McClellan Selected as
Rotary Student of the Semester
Prince senior Landys McClellan has been selected as the Rotary Student of the Semester for Fall 2021. Landys was chosen by Prince teachers for her demonstration of the Rotary Club motto of “Service Above Self”.

Landys is the daughter of Kirk and Kim McClellan and has attended Prince Avenue for 13 years. Landys chose high school science teacher Carrie Owens to share this honor with her. Landys explains that Mrs. Owens has had a great impact on her. “She has helped in both my academic advancement and in my growth as a person.

Mrs. Owens describes Landys as an exemplary student. “Landys is always ready to help when asked and serves with a smile on her face. She is genuine, compassionate, and thoughtful and has great moral integrity. It has been a joy and honor to teach Landys throughout her high school career.”

During her time at Prince, Landys has been in the National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Beta Club, and Interact Club. Landys was also a homecoming class representative for three years of high school and plays Varsity Girls Soccer.

Landys attends Prince Avenue Baptist Church where she volunteers in the church nursery. Landys also serves in the community by volunteering in homeless shelters.
Students Create "I Have a Dream" Display
Prince students school-wide created an "I Have a Dream" display in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Students were encouraged to share their hopes and desires and the ways in which God can use them to change the world. The wall is a beautiful reminder of how each person is uniquely gifted and can live his or her life to the glory of God.
Academics

Prince Avenue senior Damian Brambhatt has been named the 2022 STAR Student for Prince Avenue Christian School, scoring the highest on one sitting of the SAT test this year. He selected high school science teacher Dale Autry as his STAR Teacher.
Fine Arts
Middle School Fine Arts Production:
Shrek The Musical, Jr.
Audiences recently enjoy the wit and humor of Shrek The Musical, Jr. with the singing and dancing of their favorite Prince middle school actors.

Once upon a time, in a faraway swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek (Daniel Schroeder). One day, Shrek found his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who had been cast off by Lord Farquaad (Jaxson Wallace), a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek set off with a wisecracking donkey (Cid Charles) to confront Farquaad, he was handed a task — if he rescued feisty princess Fiona (Turner Teach), his swamp would be returned to him. What Shrek did not know was that rescuing Fiona was a small task compared to the mysterious secret she was hiding.
