FEDERAL RESERVE

Federal Reserve begins two-day meeting on interest rates. Economists are forecasting a quarter-point increase in the Fed’s benchmark rate to a range of 5% to 5.25%. On Wednesday, Fed Chair Jerome Powell holds a news conference following the central bank’s interest-rate decision.

The Commission will consider whether to adopt

  1. Rule amendments that modernize and improve disclosure about repurchases of an issuer’s equity securities that are registered under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, including requiring issuers to present the disclosure using a structured data language. 
  2. Amendments to Form PF, the confidential reporting form for certain registered investment advisers to private funds, to require current reporting for certain private fund advisers, and revise certain other reporting requirements.
