Note: Once nominations are received they will be presented to the board for consideration.

Presentation Summary: Investors today face a unique environment of record-low future expected returns. Pete will provide a backdrop for the ingredients underlying an effective portfolio and a discussion of many of today’s most prominent investment topics amidst the low expected return environment, such as illiquid investments, market timing, and factor investing. He’ll conclude by reviewing how to utilize portfolio construction, risk management, and cost control practices to build a portfolio that can succeed in the challenging market environment.

James David Coker, CFA

David Coker, of Madison, is our next Member Spotlight feature. David has a rich history in the financial services industry, going on 39 years of experience. He is not only a long-time Society member, but he also served as Society Board President from 2002-2003. His specialties and credentials include Investment Banking, General Securities Principal, Municipals Principal, Options Principal, Financial/Operations Principal, and Supervisory Analyst. He received his MBA from the University of Houston and BBA from the University of Texas.

We recently installed a new University Outreach Committee and are seeking eager volunteers who have a passion to serve both the upcoming generation of financial professionals and the professors at our local Mississippi and Northern Louisiana schools.

A few of ways you can serve:

Educating potential charterholders through classroom presentations or student events
Helping to host roundtable talks with professors and educators to learn their needs and ways we can support them
