College and Career Wednesday: Every Wednesday KM would like to spotlight a college, university, career, or apprenticeship. College and Career exploration is essential for students to create and cultivate a plan for their future.

Are you ready to be a Badger? Here are some anecdotes from the 12 UW alumni that are right here in the KM building!

For many students, the Babcock Dairy Store is their favorite building, where they make their own ice cream right on campus! College is about much more than academics. You'll want to have fun and explore your other interests, too. Check out a few of the 900-plus student-run organizations and clubs on the UW campus. Follow in the footsteps of Ms. McLean and spend time in the 30+ libraries on campus.

Feel free to talk with Ms. Kind about all the study abroad options UW has to offer. She was able to spend time at Hokkaido University in Japan. According to Ms. Hayes badgers are everywhere! And she is right. At the University of Wisconsin–Madison, you'll join a diverse student body. Around 40,000 students attend the school each year. This includes bright minds from every state and more than 120 countries. Mr. Doty's advice is to connect with your professors as they are experts in their field and can help you in future endeavors.

If you have any questions reach out to Ms. Kilpatrick, Ms. Weber, Ms. Hayes, Ms. McLean, Ms. Bardon, Ms. Kind, Mr. Erikson, Mr. Doty, Ms. Yaeger, Ms. Mather, Ms. Dimka, and Ms. Thomas about their experience at UW Madison!

Would $1k, $20k, or even $30k help pay for college? The Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides 9-12th grade students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. This year’s theme is, "Why is the Veteran Important?"

This scholarship opportunity is for our students, grades 9-12. The application has to be in the hands of our representative of the VFW by October 31.

Please see Mrs. Fetherston in Counseling if you have any questions.
