Preparing a boat for a hurricane means defending against wind, rain, waves and surge – all in proportions rarely experienced by boaters in our area.
As the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season heats up – and with this year's fourth named storm Lee strengthening towards the Caribbean – the staff of Haven Harbour Marina and Haven Harbour South remain diligent in monitoring the storms that may pose a threat to the upper Chesapeake Bay region.
We recommend that our customers take precautions as they see fit for any impending storm. Stow loose gear below deck, secure dinghies and inflatables ashore and and have extra lines on-board for doubling up ties as needed. If you need assistance in preparing your vessel, do give our office staff a call at (410) 778-6697.
For those of you that wish to be placed on our hurricane haul-out list who have not done so already, please send an email to email@havenharbour.com or give us a call. We will only activate the list if we feel there is a serious storm threat to the region.
