July 7 - Outreach Partner Presentation with Better Bound Bookstore

July 28 - Outreach Partner Presentation with Children's Attention Home

Many of these events have more details in other sections. This section is updated each week, so keep checking in. You can also see the full church calendar HERE.

We have switched to our summer worship schedule of one combined worship service at 10am! This summer schedule will run through June and July.

We look forward to worshiping all together this summer!

This Sunday, join us for a Temple Talk and presentation by our Outreach Partner Better Bound Bookstore and Youth Development Corp!

Sharon Floyd will be here to speak with us about the great work BBBS is doing in our community. She'll share a little during worship, and then afterwards, we'll gather in the Fellowship Hall for a more in-depth presentation.

We hope you'll be able to join us for this partnership event!

The video & announcement below were shared by BBBS in May, as one of the many accomplishments of the Youth who are served by this program!

Facebook Announcement: Celebrating a Remarkable Achievement!

We are thrilled to share some fantastic news from the Better Bound Book Store & Youth Development program! One of our remarkable young adults has successfully earned their GED (General Educational Development) credential.

This achievement is a testament to their unwavering dedication, perseverance, and hard work. Overcoming challenges and demonstrating resilience, they have taken significant steps toward a brighter future.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our supportive community. Your encouragement, mentorship, and belief in these young adults have made this accomplishment possible.

Remember, every young adult who completes their basic education contributes to an economic and societal victory for all of us. Education opens doors, empowers individuals, and strengthens communities. Let’s continue to champion education and celebrate these milestones together!

Congratulations to our GED graduate! Your success inspires us all.

Hello Grace friends in Christ,

Frances and I wish to thank all for the outpouring of love shown with cards, hugs, notes and emails expressing their condolences over the loss of my sister, Cary, while we were traveling together overseas on a cruise.

The loss of a sibling is never easy and harder still when in unfamiliar surroundings conversing in a foreign language. You have comforted us in our time of grief and we thank you dearly. We are so very thankful for our church family at Grace Lutheran Church.

Most sincerely,

Walker and Frances Stockley

Welcome Brendan Quinn!

We are pleased to welcome Brendan, who joins his wife, Traci, and daughter, Ashlyn, as members of Grace. Brendan, a graduate of University of Dayton, is a Recruiting Manager for Cornerstone Staffing, an industrial staffing service in Charlotte.

Brendan was born in Pittsburgh PA to a family with ties to the city going back to the 19th century. His family moved several times during his childhood, but most of his young years were spent in New Jersey. As you might imagine with his ties to Pittsburgh, Brendan is an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan!

In his free time, Brendan enjoys cooking, playing golf, reading, watching movies, and enjoying outdoor activities with Traci and Ashlyn, and their two dogs, Shadow and Magnolia. His favorite genre is historical fiction, noting that one of his favorite books is “Chesapeake” by James Michener. As for cooking, his favorite foods to prepare are creole dishes. He developed his love for Cajun cooking while living in New Orleans for five years. Seafood gumbo is his “special” dish to serve to family and friends.

Brendan was raised in a devout Catholic family but never really found a church “home” until he and his family started attending Grace.  He enjoys the services at Grace and finds our members very welcoming.

Brendan and his family have volunteered for Family Promise, but he also looks forward to serving as a lector and learning about ways he can become involved in WELCM.

Do you know about NARCAN?

Naloxone (NARCAN) reverses an opioid overdose. Naloxone works by blocking the effects of opiates on the brain and by restoring breathing.

Grace now has NARCAN on site as a life-saving resource.

To learn more about NARCAN, how to use it, and how to recognize an opioid overdose, click HERE for an info sheet provided by Grace's Health and Wellness Committee!

We had a fantastic week of SCUBA VBS!

We had 35 kids and 28 volunteers come together for an under-the-sea adventure where we learned God is a friend

-who is real -who loves -we can trust -forever -for everyone!

We give thanks for all the volunteers who made this week possible, and for all the kids who grew in faith with us!
