Sports and Kingdom Glory
This time of the year always brings me back to football! The smell of cut grass … the chill in the air … not quite cold enough for a coat, but too cold for just a t-shirt = hoodie weather! I’m such a huge fan of taking in friday through monday night lights! Our society has no problem getting excited and loud over our favorite sports teams. Every high and low point of the games have us on the edge of our seats, sometimes jumping right out of them. But have you ever wondered why it’s so easy for us to be so passionate about sports, but when it comes to our passion for Jesus we are rather lackluster. Friends, I love football and many other sports, but if our joy is not first and foremost found in the Lord we will find ourselves frequently disappointed. Seek first the Kingdom and then enjoy your sports. I pray the Lord ignites a passion for Him in your heart today that is not surpassed by anything in this world!
