ALERT! SB 1070 (ERIC Bill)
will be heard TOMORROW
| Tomorrow is a crucial day, as SB 1070, Senator Hughes' bill on ERIC, is scheduled to be heard in the Senate Committee on State Affairs. Although we are unsure of the order in which the bills will be heard, the hearings will commence promptly at 9:30 a.m. It's important to note that the Senate does not offer the option to testify online like we have for the House, but if you're in the Austin area, you have the opportunity to testify in person. Additionally, for those who cannot attend in person, the hearings will be available to watch online here. This is a momentous day, and we're excited to see the progress we can make towards ensuring fair elections in Texas! |

Parents have a right to make decisions for their children. Unfortunately, many school districts have been ignoring the wishes of parents while special interest groups try to criminalize free speech. Luckily for Americans, today, the House Republican majority passed the Parents' Bill of Rights.
What you need to know:
- Today's vote affirmed that:
- Parents have the right to know what their children are being taught;
- Parents have the right to be heard;
- Parents have the right to see the school budget and spending;
- Parents have the right to protect their child's privacy;
- Parents have the right to keep their children safe.
- The passage of the Parents' Bill of Rights is a win for every father, every mother, and every student in America.
- No Democrat voted for the bill, once again proving Democrats are too extreme to believe that parents should have a say in their kids' education.
- Democrats would rather target parents instead of support parents.
The bottom line:
Republicans are fighting to empower parents and support our children and their future. Today's bill affirms House Republicans' Commitment to America.
| Every State is a Border State |
Thanks to Biden's border crisis, illicit drugs are flowing into our country at an alarming rate, making ever state a border state.
What you need to know:
- This week, Secretary of State Antony Blinken testified before the Senate and admitted:
-
Mexican fentanyl is killing Americans by the "tens of thousands."
-
"We can do a lot more" to secure the border and stop the flow of fentanyl.
- However, the Biden administration is all talk and no action on the border crisis.
-
Biden's budget only mentions “fentanyl” two times in 176 pages.
-
Illicit drugs are flowing into the country at an alarming rate, with only 5 to 10% being intercepted as border officials struggle to contain the smuggling.
-
2,282 pounds of deadly fentanyl and 10,333 pounds of methamphetamine were seized at the southern border in February alone, with much more getting through.
-
The amount of fentanyl seized in February is the equivalent of more than 517 million lethal doses.
-
Deadly rainbow fentanyl, which is designed by cartels to target children and teens, has been increasingly caught crossing the border.
-
6 out of every 10 tablets analyzed by the DEA contains a lethal dose of fentanyl.
-
Fentanyl is now the leading cause of death for Americans age 18 to 45, with the number killed by the drug up 94% since 2019.
-
Of the record 107,000 fatal drug overdoses in 2021, two-thirds involved fentanyl;
-
On average, one person in the U.S. now dies from a fentanyl overdose every seven minutes.
-
We do not have operational control of the border and tens of thousands of Americans are dying as a result.
The bottom line:
The Biden administration is hurting Americans by allowing the border to remain open. He needs to get a handle on this crisis and support the border agents who are trying to fix his mess.
