Governmental Affairs Chair Carie McNeil, Association Executive Rhonda Lesley, and President Elect Kelsie Rasure met with Midland's new City Manager Tommy Gonzalez last month.

Our goal is to raise $30,000 to build and furnish a tiny home for someone who truly needs it. We only need $7,942 to reach our goal. Help us in the home stretch!

What is Fields Edge?

For all of you that weren’t able to make the convention let me assure you missed a fun filled, learning experience in beautiful San Antonio! The educational offerings, the speakers, the setting were all in all one of the very best in the last 20 years.

Following is a snapshot of what went on at the Caucus meeting.

Meeting dates are to be announced shortly for our 360 Meeting. For you that don’t know what that is please be aware that it is our TR Region 6 assembly for all boards in our Region. It is usually an overnight trip and gives you a chance to hear the TR Executive Committee members give an overview of everything going on at TR and some also at TREC.

Region 10 was dissolved. Brazoria County and Galveston will move to Region 9 and Matagordo County will move to Region 11.

There were amendments to the bylaws as to the removal of directors, definitions for clarity for Region Vice Presidents and Officers and eligibility definitions for requirements to serve as a Regional Vice President or Officer of TR.

The budget was approved and there will be no dues increase. There will be an increase in the yearly budget to fund the Issues Mobilization fund from $5 per member per year to $30 per member per year.

There were many meetings conducted that dealt with our political involvement in issues pertaining to the bills being voted on. Several of importance were:

The increase of homestead exemption to be raised to $100k

The addressing of rural internet access and the importance

Water resources funding, school financing, highways, right to farm, and

many other issues were discussed

A TREPAC update was given and we are only at 37% participation statewide whereas PBBOR hit over 80% last year. Thanks to all of you that helped. Thanks to Trisha Tranum for a job well done as our TREPAC Chair. It makes us stand out!

Jeff Conn of Lubbock was inducted as the 2024 President of TR at a Roaring 20s Installation dinner that left us all speechless. What a party we had. We had wonderful participation from PBBOR and OBR over the whole convention on all levels.

Thank you for allowing me to be your Regional Vice President for Region 6. I am honored to be able to represent our Region.
