School Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 2:30/2:40PM


Grades 6-8:  7:45-8:00AM arrival window, attendance is marked at 8:00AM

Preschool – Grade 5:  8:00-8:15AM arrival window, announcements/morning prayer begin at 8:10AM, attendance is marked at 8:15AM

Attendance

The school must be notified if a student is to be absent. Please email attendance@saintjoes.com to let the school know that your student is absent. 

 

Tardy

Parents must inform the office of late arrivals using the attendance email address (attendance@saintjoes.com), please note the approximate time of arrival if possible. All students in grades 1-8 should report to the 90 Pickering Street entrance/office before heading to their classrooms. ECB Students should be escorted by a parent/guardian to the main door at the ECB prior to heading to their classroom.

 

Early Dismissal

Parents must inform the office of early dismissals using the attendance email address (attendance@saintjoes.com). A student will not be released from school during the school day without the e-mail request of a parent/guardian. Report to the 90 Pickering Street office to pick up all students grades 1-8, and the main entrance at the ECB for PS, PK and K students. Should a student return to school prior to the end of the school day, he or she should sign into the main office before returning to class.

Middle School Study Hall

Middle School Study Hall begins Tuesday, September 6, 2022. 

Study Hall provides students in grades 5-8 with an opportunity to complete their homework or schoolwork in a supervised environment after school. Study Hall is available Monday through Thursday and students can attend without prior registration. Study Hall fee is $15 daily. For more information, click below.

CORI FORMS

All those planning to volunteer at school this year need to have a CORI filled out. Mrs. O'Brien will be in Mary’s Garden collect CORI Forms on Tuesday, September 6th from 7:45-8:15am and again from 2:15-3:00pm, weather permitting. Please bring your driver’s license. 


CORI forms can be filled out at any time by visiting the main office at either the ECB or at 90 Pickering Street.

Lunch and Recess Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to help with Lunch and Recess throughout the week!  Volunteers will assist students in the ECB for recess and students in grades 1-5 during lunch & recess.

 

We are also looking for volunteers to help distribute lunch on Pizza Fridays for grades 1-8.

Athletics, Intramurals & Clubs

SJS is pleased to offer a variety of intramural activities to all grade levels.  Starting at the end of September SJS will offer flag football, street hockey, volleyball and running club.  More information to come, stay tuned!

Substitute Teachers

Saint Joseph School is looking for energetic and motivated substitute teachers to work with students from Preschool - Grade 8.  Substitute teachers will follow the classroom teacher's lesson plans, manage the classroom environment, and transition students to specialty classes and recess/lunch.  If you are interested, apply today by contacting Lauren Solomon, Principal at lsolomon@saintjoes.com.

Parent School Association (PSA)

Saint Joseph School is well-served by a strong partnership between Parents, School Administrators, and Teachers, evidenced by a robust volunteer program and frequent opportunities to connect on school-related issues. One of the best parts of our school community is being part of the “Parent School Association” (PSA). You’ll meet fellow parents, plan fun school-wide events, and get a chance to be involved in your student(s) school life.

Back-To-School Picnic

Join us on Friday, September 9th for the first ever Back-to-School Picnic


Bring your dinner, blanket or chairs, and meet up with friends and classmates in the parking lot from 5 to 7pm. Free to attend, stay the whole time, or just stop by for a quick HELLO. We will have face painting and an ice cream truck (for purchase). See you then!
