On Friday, Principal Dr. Freytas met with students to discuss what they like about RB and suggestions on how to improve the school culture and experience. Dr. Freytas takes these suggestions and reviews them with his team to see how certain areas can be improved upon.

Coffee with the Principal
Principal Dr. Freytas held his first Coffee with the Principal where he meets with parents and community members to share good news, updates on key practices, and upcoming events. He also takes time to listen and receive public comments and general feedback on school initiatives.

White Sox Sports Media Day
RBTV students attended the White Sox Sports Media Day, a panel discussion featuring distinguished Chicago White Sox broadcasters and other notable figures from the broadcasting industry. This opportunity allowed students to gain insights into the world of sports broadcasting, journalism, and media production.

Boys Golf Headed to Sectionals
The RBHS Boys Golf team placed 4th at Regionals and 4 golfers are headed to the IHSA Sectionals on Monday. Those advancing to Sectionals are Connor Dominick, Joey Garvey, Ben O'Brien, and Josh Udelson. Good luck!

Superintendent Dr. Skinkis Presents on Peer Evaluation
Dr. Skinkis presented at the 59th Annual Conference for the Illinois Association of School Administrators held in Springfield, IL. The presentation focused on peer evaluation, which is an innovative, alternative approach to traditional teacher evaluation.

The RBHS Girls Golf team are sending 5 golfers to the IHSA Sectionals! Those advancing to Sectionals are Mayan Covarrubias, Tali Schultz, Taryn Schultz, Sadie Springer, and Lucia Vazzana. Good luck!

Food Truck!
Business students build a brand and create a marketing campaign around the food truck. Each team presents their brand to the culinary students and the winning team gets to have their food truck in the lunchroom. Business students market and run the truck and the culinary team prepares and makes the food.

Dual Credit Enrollment
Teachers from the Applied Arts Department enrolled over 80 students in Dual Credit classes this week. RBHS now offers 13 different dual credit courses, compared to 6 courses last year.

These students are Elizabeth Buchancow, Joseph Buckles, Katherine DeJesus, Patrick Hart, Isabelle Hernandez, Misael Herrera Mendoza, and Mariah Watkins-Sanders.

Congratulations to the USA Women's Volleyball Team on qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics! Dana Rettke (#16), 2017 RBHS Volleyball Alum, is a huge part of the team's success.

RB Graduate Selected as Syracuse Drum Major
RBHS Alum, Claire Harrison, is a 19-year-old sophomore at Syracuse University and a drum major for the Pride of the Orange, the official name of the school's marching band. This is a huge accomplishment for a college sophomore. Congrats, Claire!

RB Alum Writes New Book
Neal Fischer, RBHS Alum, wrote his second book “Behind the Screens: Illustrated Floor Plans and Scenes from the Greatest TV Shows of All Time,” released last week. Fischer has always loved the arts and accredits his success in his creative endeavors to RB’s Fine Arts and Music & Theatre Department.
