History of the UCSF Black Caucus

The UCSF Black Caucus was founded in 1968 from the direct action of UCSF staff who advocated for change.

They are a forum open to all Black-identified individuals and allies on the UCSF campus. This group provides a space to openly express themselves regarding matters of race as they affect life on the campus and in the community. The Black Caucus serves as an instrument for the formation of a Black consensus on those racial matters that affect every person on this campus. This consensus will then by presented to the Administration for appropriate action.

Take-the-Pledge: Black Men in White Coats Film Screening

Join the Multicultural Resource Center and the Graduate Medical Education, School of Medicine in honoring Black History Month 2022 at UCSF, by committing to Take-A-Pledge by watching Black Men In White Coats film! The purpose of this action is to raise awareness around the disparities and systemic barriers preventing Black men on their journey to becoming physicians.

African American Garden Poetry Walk

In honor of Black History Month, the Garden Poetry Walk is featuring the poems of African American poets.

The poems featured this month are Audre Lorde, Amanda Gorman, Dominique Christina, Derek Walcott, Rita Dove, Nikki Giovanni, and Ross Gay.

[Poetry stands can be found in the gardens at Bldg 80/90, Bldg 9/30/40 and on the rooftop of Bldg 25.]

Thank you for completing the capital asset inventory.

Vanessa will follow up with labs about document collection for shredding

The -20 freezer in the BSL2 Room 511 needs to be defrosted. Please remove items by 2/16.

Loop in Vanessa and Justin with any equipment purchases. The DEM equipment list should be updated as lab equipment changes.

Mary Beth has freezer boxes/racks to claim. They are in 521 on the bench side opposite the Henrich lab.

Flow Committee

Panel sharing: Rachel has created a "Lab" where you can see other panels that have been shared. Rachel has to add you.

CST beads are being made too often

Aurora Training: Parnassus training files are complete.CIL/PFCC to create small particle settings for users.
