Principal's Corner
On behalf of the faculty and staff of St. Benedict Catholic School, I would like to thank all of the volunteers who made our Centennial Gala such a success. It was a beautiful event at a beautiful venue, and we were able to see many alumni who hadn't been to a school event in many years. It wouldn't have been possible without our wonderful team of volunteers and the dedication and hard work of our PTO President - Georgia Riccobono, Technology Chair - Andy Anderson, and our Director of Admissions & Development, Gretchen Ridgely. THANK YOU!

I'd also like to express gratitude to our parents for a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week this past week. Your gifts, kind words, and prayers were greatly appreciated. We could not do what we do as a school without the partnership between our wonderful teachers and our dedicated families.
Congratulations 4th Grade Minds in Motion!
Congratulations to our 4th Graders for their participation in the Richmond Ballet's Minds in Motion program! St. Benedict is the only Catholic school to participate in this action-packed program that has brought an accompanist and choreographer to our school each week throughout this school year to work with our 4th graders and culminates in a wonderful presentation put on by the students. It's a long-standing tradition at St. Benedict, and while Covid continues to limit the scope of the performance at this time, we're thrilled the students are back on a stage to share their hardwork and talents! The students performed a dress rehearsal on Thursday for fellow school mates and then performed for their parents that evening. Here's a quick clip from their wonderful finale! Way to go, Comets!
Welcome New Families!!
New Parent Orientation will take place via Zoom on TUES. MAY 24TH @ 6:30PM We will host this important presentation over Zoom so that we can have as many families participate as possible. This is for brand new families to St. Benedict to attend so that we can answer all of your questions about everything from uniforms to carline to after school care. Please plan now to participate in this informative event.

OKTOBERFEST Needs YOU!
The St. Benedict Oktoberfest is one of RVA's favorite 'fests each and every year! Making this event a great success for the 50,000 guests it welcomes annually, takes the leadership and hard work of a dedicated group of volunteers. The Oktoberfest Committee is seeking Committee members for the following important areas:

  • Children's Area Lead
  • Oktoberfest Committee Secretary
  • Food Concessions Support Leads (to support Lead)
  • Set Up & Decorations Lead

If you love our Oktoberfest and are willing to serve in a bigger role for this vital event for our school and parish communities, please email today Gretchen Ridgely at gridgely@saintbenedictschool.org. We need you!
The St. Benedict Rosary Society
The purpose of the St. Benedict Catholic School Rosary Society is threefold: to encourage devotion to Our Lady; to promote the sanctity of its members; and to pray for the intentions of the entire SBCS family. Membership is open to all students, staff, and families, and there are only two requirements: praying a daily Memorare and a weekly Rosary for the intentions submitted to the society. If you or members of your family would like to take part, please fill out the short form here.
Nurses Corner
It has been a challenging year in some ways, however, it’s been a blessing that we have been able to attend in-person all year!

You will find any medical forms in your registration packet that each student receives. Please look over all those papers and fill out any medication forms which will be needed for next year if in your packets. Here is the link if there is a need to have any medication administered.

I have also included the forms in your packets. If there are any questions please do not hesitate to reach out. Any questions email dlawrence@saintbenedictschool.org.

There are also a few requirements for rising 7th graders, thus please check with your provider for current immunizations. Each rising 7th grade student will need a current physical and that form has also been provided for you to take to the physician's office when you schedule the physical.

We also need to have a current action plan for any students with medical diagnosis for next year. Each year these have to be reviewed with the provider's signature.

One last thing. If you have any medication in the clinic it must be picked up before the end of the school year. Please make arrangements with the Clinic.

Thank you for your understanding!
