A Special Visit from
City of Miramar Mayor

Our Miramar Honey Bugs had a wonderfully inspiring visit from City of Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam. This special visit took place at City of Miramar Parks Ansin Sports Complex. We are always ready to give our girls the tools needed to successfully soar higher, and mentorship and guidance are key components. Thank you Mayor Messam for spending time with our girls, and helping them to aspire to shine.
A PEP Rally for Honey Bugs

The month of February is filled with positive and impactful programming centered around education, health, enrichment & exposure, family services and economic sustainability.

A University of Miami Medical Resident hosted a PEP Rally to help our middle school honey bugs learn about menstrual health. The Period Education Project - Girlology is the leading movement helping young people access medically-accurate menstrual health education.
Capital Campaign
It is not too late to join #OYC and make history‼️!
OYC Miami Brick Campaign
Start this New Year off by spreading and building L💙VE in our community…one brick at a time!

What better way to imprint L💙VE into the community than by purchasing a brick for our capital campaign. When you purchase a brick, you can create a personalized forever message that will be a part of our foundation; created to symbolize building strong children and communities.
Program Highlights
Black History Showcase
OYC’s got plenty of talent, and our kids put on a SHOW to culminate and celebrate Black History. Song, dance and spoken word were the highlights of our amazing “Lift Every Voice and Sing” theme Black History Showcase. Through an outstanding display of art and talent, audience members were dived into spectacular performances that showed Black Power and L🖤VE.
Tina Brown - State of Black Philanthropy Honoree
OYC Miami’s dynamic CEO - Tina Brown – was an honoree at the Miami Foundation’s Eight Annual State of Black Philanthropy. This event highlighted and recognized powerful changemakers in our community. We are truly filled with pride to see that our leader was one selected as a honoree.
Hyatt World Care Volunteers
Hyatt Regency Coral Gables and The Confidante staff pulled all the Valentine’s bells & whistles during their Super Saturday takeover this past February. The Hyatt World Cares volunteers got all Super-Duper during their session with hands-on activities and projects that engaged students, from little to big.
