Hello everyone-
Thank you to Leadership and all of the parents who worked so hard to pull off a successful homecoming. It truly was a community event. That being said, if you have not done so already, please read Principal Ball's email from Friday on his weekly update. This coming Monday is our PTSA meeting. Principal Ball will discuss the details of his email in addition to having an open forum for parents. A representative of the FBI, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of Civil Rights and Color of Law (Hate Crimes), Agustin Lopez, from the San Francisco Division, will also be on hand to speak with parents and lend his expertise. Please note at 7 pm we will need to start the administrative portion of our PTSA meeting so we can complete business needs for our committees. Future discussions, plans, and forums will be discussed to continue to address the continued incidents at Cal High. Over the past week, I have had discussions with multiple individuals surrounding what could be done differently. I've inquired and looked back on what has been done since elementary school, what is working, what is not working, and what our community can do differently. It is not just a Cal High issue, but a national and worldwide issue. If you're able to attend on Monday, please come with ideas reflecting on those questions. I, myself, along with other PTSA members and my community outside of Cal High are all looking for how we can educate and put a stop to these incidents.
-Colleen Birmingham, PTSA President 2023-2024
