Membership & Registration Assistance

As we have rolled into the month of October, hopefully everyone is finding that they have tons of new scouts and adult leaders joining your Scouting units!!

With the recent policy change requiring youth to register online, and the eventual policy requiring adult leaders to register online, we have produced a few how-to videos to help you through those processes.

  • BeAScout Pin Setting – This will show how to set the information on your Scouting Units BeAScout pin. This allows prospective families to find a place to join Scouting.
  • Invitation Manager Info – This will show you how to find the URL link and QR code specific to your unit. These are used to get the new youth or adult the proper online registration information.
  • Online Adult Application – This will walk you through how to receive and accept an online adult application.

Now that Online Applications are being accepted for Adult Leader registrations, we have noticed that there is some confusion on how to fill out and submit the Massachusetts CORI form. As you should know, in addition to the National background check that the BSA requires, Massachusetts also requires and adults that volunteer with youth to fill out a CORI form for a state background check.

Many of you have been able to figure out and receive and approve the new online adult leader registrations. However, there seems to be some issues on also getting the CORI forms submitted. Because the CORI is a local requirement and not a Nation-wide thing, the BSA online registration system doesn’t flag missing CORI forms as part of that approval process. So we have set up an online opportunity for folks to safely submit their CORI and photo ID.

Adults registering online can complete the online SoA CORI form and upload their ID via this secure link https://hipaa.joƞorm.com/232543180609050

Cambridge Merit Badge University

October 29 - 8:30am-6:00pm - Cambridge Innovation Center

Merit Badges are integral to the Scouts BSA program.  Merit Badges allow Scouts to learn about crafts, business, science, trades, and explore careers.  Earning Merit Badges connects Scouts with adult experts.

At Cambridge Merit Badge Day, experts from nearby universities, institutions, community organizations, and laboratories will share their experiences. We will offer many Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics-themed (STEAM) merit badges that may not be available at other places like Summer Camp, for Scouts to explore, learn, and hopefully foster a lifelong interest.
