Tomorrow is the last day of the 2021-2022 school year
The countdown to summer in on!

Please remember the last day of school, Thursday, May 26, is a full day for all NISD students and staff.

Thank you for a wonderful year and we look forward to a fabulous 2022-2023!
Our hearts are with Uvalde
Read update below from Dr. Hicks regarding NISD's safety measures
Like many of you, I followed the news yesterday regarding the school shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde CISD with immense sadness. Such loss is impossible to comprehend, and it brings me profound sorrow as an educator and parent.

I have asked our high school student council leadership to help determine how our school community can best support the families and staff in Uvalde and they will be meeting today to take action. The superintendent of Uvalde has asked for prayers and a number of foundations are serving as a collection point for financial resources. Please consider supporting the families and staff in Uvalde in every way you are able.

Graduation walks inspire young students
The Class of 2022 gathered this morning at elementary schools across Northwest ISD to walk the halls and inspire young students on their path to graduation.

Former teachers and parents greeted graduates outside and recalled times once spent within elementary classroom walls.

This annual tradition is one of the final celebrations for seniors as they prepare to walk across the stage in just a few days at graduation.
Northwest ISD celebrates Top 10 graduates
Northwest ISD would like to congratulate high school seniors from across the district who will graduate — ranked as a Top 10 graduate — with honors from their respective high schools.

Recognizing the 40 high-achieving graduates from the district's four high school campuses, the following students have much to look forward to after excelling and persevering throughout high school. A special thank you to the dedicated teachers and parents who have helped guide their learning and development over the years.
Board of Trustee awards honor student accomplishments
The Northwest ISD Board of Trustees recognized more than 1,200 students from across the district for achieving regional, state and national honors at three Trustee Awards of Excellence ceremonies.

Congratulations, students!

NISD named 2022 Best Communities for Music Education
Northwest ISD is proud to once again be named a 2022 Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation.

As schools across the nation regain their cadence with the return to in-person learning and the reduction in mandates, the NAMM Foundation is pleased to celebrate those added to their accomplished list of talent.
Register today for 2022-2023 school year
Enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year remains open!

Enrolling your child — and providing annual proof of residency — as early as possible is one way that you can help your campus and the district prepare for the next school year. The more families enroll early, the fewer class-balancing changes the district has to make after the school year begins. Early enrollment helps us have teachers where they need to be to meet the needs of our families.

Please visit www.nisdtx.org/enroll to begin the enrollment process for returning students, currently enrolled students and new students to Northwest ISD.
Special Education Parent Advisory Council now accepting applications
Northwest ISD is a leader in inclusive education. It is imperative that the district and the population collaborate effectively during rapid growth to maintain a standard of excellence. An effective parent advisory council engages district stakeholders in the role of advisors and collaborators. These stakeholders use their family’s experiences, unique perspectives and expertise to influence decisions and help shape programs and policies at the local level by working closely with district administrators and staff.

Interested in serving on the Special Education Parent Advisory Council? Please visit the SEPAC webpage.
