Dear Normandale families,

It is mid-August and temps are cooling down as back to school preparations heat up at Normandale! This week we welcomed new teachers to New Teacher Orientation and leadership teams at all buildings met to hammer out school improvement plans. Construction workers and custodians have also been busy at Normandale cleaning rooms, polishing floors, replacing windows, replacing the sidewalk along the frontage road and modifying Normandale’s SW entrance. We hope to have our summer projects wrapped up by day one of the 2022-23 school year.

I know many of you are also wrapping up summer projects and travel plans. I hope you can find time to over the next several weeks to complete a few more tasks.

  • Join us for Open House on Thursday, August 25 between 3:30 and 5:00 PM.
  • Remember to sign-up for Connect and Assess conferences scheduled for August 29 and 30. You should have received an email from Normandale with instructions for signing up to meet with your teacher.
  • Read/review/reference this Back to School Guide and the Normandale Parent/Student Handbook. There is a lot of good information about how things work at Normandale in both documents.

Finally, enjoy the last few weeks of summer and know that Normandale staff are excited to greet you and your student(s) in the coming days!

CONNECT AND ASSESS DAYS

As previously communicated, August 29-30 have been designated as Connect and Assess days. These one-on-one conferences provide teachers individualized knowledge about each student and a chance for parents to share information about their child. Classroom placement information was made available to families Monday morning in Infinite Campus via the portal. If you have questions about accessing the portal, please send an email to [email protected].

Connect and Assess Sign Ups were emailed to families Monday morning. If you have not received a link for your student or need assistance in signing up for a conference time, please contact Anne or Shannon in the Normandale office.

NORMANDALE OPEN HOUSE

Please join us for Normandale’s Open House on Thursday, August 25th from 3:30pm-5:00pm.
