First Friday Compline
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but stands fast for ever. (Psalm 125:1)

Our First Friday Compline service on 5/5 falls on the weekend of the Fifth Sunday of Easter and will include more than five “Alleluias” in the up tempo setting of “Regina caeli” by Antonio Lotti. Early music by Lotti and Gibbons will be juxtaposed with chant and more contemporary settings, with a focus on Psalm 125. Come appreciate the candle-light glow of our sanctuary and the sounds of the Saint James Compline Choir, as we pray: Show your goodness, O Lord, to those who are true of heart. (Psalm 125:4) Click here to view via livestream.

Brickwork Restoration
As part of the ongoing historic preservation of our campus and buildings, repointing the brickwork on the bell tower has begun and will continue for approximately two months. The process includes sandblasting a portion of the deteriorated mortar and redoing the joints with new mortar. Repointing halts any further water penetration through the mortar and behind the brick wall and ultimately preserves the entire structure.

The church can be accessed from Duke Street by going up the ramp leading to the chapel, to the cloister fountain and into the narthex via the arched glass doors.

Safeguarding God's Children Training Scheduled for Sunday, May 28th

The Diocese of Central PA requires all who are employed by the congregation (full-time, part time & sub contractors), all who serve on vestry, all who work in children and youth ministry, all who volunteer with children and youth and those who have keys to any of the church grounds to take this training from a diocesan-certified trainer.

The course in sexual abuse awareness provides participants information they need to protect the children they know and care for in their personal lives and in the ministries in which they serve.

If this is your first time, your training has to be in person or on zoom with your video on the entire time. If you took this training before and are renewing, and prefer to take the online modules, please click here to email Dina Carter Ishler to get started.

An in-house lunch (soup, salad, wraps) will be served at 12 PM in the forum room where the training will take place. Click here to sign up for the training. For questions, click here to email Mother Shayna Watson.

In a Greater Light
