“Cultivating Kindness, Relationships, and Growth for all.”
News You Can Use: April 8, 2022

Dear CCGS Families,
We had a great, but chilly first week of April at Circle Center Grade School. This week our third grade students finished up their state IAR testing. I am very proud of their perseverance and growth mindset over the past two weeks. This week while visiting classrooms I observed students measuring items and comparing measurements in second grade. I also had the chance to see some first grade students making words and participating in centers. Our students have sprung into fourth quarter with lots of energy and enthusiasm and we are so excited to see them reaching their goals in reading and writing. We have had so many students reach their weekly goals for Lexia and Dreambox and they are lovong their stickers!

Congratulations to Our March Dreambox Leaders:
Kindergarten: Bryce C., Gunner P., Leo V.,Adeline A., Connor W., Mason K
First Grade: Brennan G., Liam J., Dominic N., Elias B., Aubrey W., Teagan W., Payton M., Noah R
Second Grade: Gavin B., Parker M., Colin G., Asher H., Travis Y., Liam., Xavier S.
Third Grade: Anthony O., Evelyn S., Isabel O., Nora M., Keila M., Myah F., Gabriel H., Abigail K.

Each week I offer a way for you to share a celebration or ask questions on this survey. If you would like a specific reply, please add your name so I can get back to you. If you comment about a specific teacher- I send this directly to them and I know it really brightens their day!

New school store items should be coming next week! Please let your learner know we will make an announcement when the new items arrive. Thank you so much for supporting our school store! We have been able to purchase so many great books for our vending machine and have surpassed our sales from last school year!
Author/illustrator Adam Rex will be visiting our kindergarten through sixth grade students on April 14th! We will celebrate all things humor & picture books with him, and get a drawing demo, too!
We invite you to join us for our 4th quarter Read Aloud Pajama Party on April 19th at 6:45pm! For the first half of our event we are thrilled to be hosting Caron Levis, author of 2022 Monarch nominee This Way, Charlie! This year our elementary students have celebrated this story of friendship & patience between a grumpy goat and blind horse, which is inspired by a true story from the Open Bud Ranch animal sanctuary. So as a special bonus, after Caron finishes her read aloud we will be taking a virtual tour of the Naperville Area Humane Society!
Please see the Zoom information below and the attached flyer for more information. Hope to see you on April 19th! =)

Address Book
By:Familyeducation.com
“Keeping track of the addresses of friends and family members helps your child practice his writing skills, learn about alphabetical order, and learn how to write addresses correctly.”

Materials
-Pencil, pen, or marker
-Index cards
-Ruled paper
-Blank address book or small notebook
-Stationery and postage stamps (optional)
Directions
-Tell your child that an address book organizes information alphabetically by last name.
-Write the names and addresses of friends and family members on index cards.
-Have your child organize the cards in alphabetical order.
-Next, show your child the correct format for writing an address.
-Let him practice writing his own name and address on ruled paper.
-Have your child copy the names and addresses on the index cards into a blank address book or a small notebook. If you're using a notebook, label the pages alphabetically.
Encourage your child to use his address book when sending letters, greeting cards, and thank-you cards to friends and family. If you like, give him a supply of stationery and postage stamps.
