Sister Rosalyn Kuzma captured the arrival of these spring blossoms on the grounds of Mt. Assisi Place in Pittsburgh, home to more than a dozen of our Sisters.

Baby pea plants peek through their soil in the greenhouse at Monocacy Farm Project, our farming ministry in Bethlehem, Pa. They were sown in early March by students at nearby Moravian University.

Step Outside with Us for Spring

Our For many, it has been a relatively mild winter. But that doesn't mean we appreciate any less the much-anticipated arrival of spring this week. Lent and the coming sacred days of Easter remind us that the time of renewal is upon us. Soak it all in when you step outside with us for some special events that celebrate God's gifts all around us.

 

An Earth Day Walk at Monocacy Manor

10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 22

Certified forest therapy guide Sharon Lohse returns to our St. Francis Center for Renewal to lead a special Earth Day nature program. The day will include a two-hour guided walk around our Monocacy Manor property. Come explore the beauty of God’s creation as we celebrate the Earth. The program will close with snacks, tea and shared reflection among the group. Details & Registration

 

Senior Day at St. Francis Center for Renewal: The Gift of Years

10 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 13

Our elder years have value, are to be celebrated, to be lived fully. How important it is to keep growing in this time of life. Join Sister Marguerite Stewart for the second annual Senior Day at SFCR: Celebrate ... The Gift of Years, including opening prayer service, lunch, discussion and sharing with other seniors, and a relaxing walk around our grounds. Monocacy Farm Project’s Third Annual Spring on the Farm

11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 13

It’s time to embrace spring, get outside and jumpstart the growing season! To help you do just that, Monocacy Farm Project’s third annual Spring on the Farm event will feature a sale of a wide variety of plants direct from our farm greenhouse, local food and craft vendors, farm tours and an opportunity to learn about beekeeping on our property. Sisters to Host Drive-Thru Food Drive Dropoff Friday & Saturday, March 24-25

Our Sisters in Bethlehem, Pa., are joining forces with John Chrysostom Academy to host a drive-thru Food Drive dropoff from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, March 24-25, at Mullen Hall at Monocacy Manor. We are seeking donations of canned goods, non-perishables, toiletries, cash and grocery gift cards to benefit those in need throughout the Lehigh Valley.
