Live Music at University Plaza!
HEADLINER: The Amish Outlaws are BACK this year! They are very well acclimated to the pleasures and vices of the modern world... music, most of all. Hip hop, rock, country, metal, disco, opera. There is no genre they do not touch upon. They play the songs all the other bands are embarrassed to play! Don't miss out on a fun night out!
OPENER: The Howlers! Todd Haines of Williamsport MD on acoustic guitar/vocals and Lew Palladino of Hagerstown MD on lead guitar/vocals. Lew is best known for decades of live performances with The Rhythm Kings. Their style is stripped down to the elemental basics of guitars and mics and draws on a lifetime of musical influences from classic rock to country to blues and everything in between. A typical performance will feature songs both well-known and more obscure, from a range of artists and genres from The Beatles to Zac Brown, with the goal of an ever-expanding set list and musical experience.
Bring your own chair, food, and drinks.
Please note: Event-goers are permitted to bring their own alcohol in non-breakable containers into University Plaza during the event. Open containers of alcohol are not to be taken outside of the Plaza.
Imagine Hagerstown is supported in part by the Maryland State Arts Council (msac.org) and the Washington County Arts Council (https://www.washingtoncountyarts.com/) and is based in Hagerstown’s Arts & Entertainment District.

The Maryland Theatre presents Trace Adkins
Tuesday, June 7, 2022
7:00 PM
| |
In his 25-year career in Country music, Trace Adkins has sold over 11 MILLION albums, charted over 20 singles, earned numerous awards and GRAMMY nominations, and garnered over TWO BILLION streams. A Grand Ole Opry member for nearly two decades, the Louisiana native is known for dynamic baritone and fiery, always-memorable live performances, and has expanded his Country career to include film and TV acting. He broke out in 1996 with the debut album, DREAMIN’ OUT LOUD, cracking the Top 5 of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with “Every Light In the House Is On” and following with the #1 smash, “This Ain’t (No Thinkin’ Thing).” Since then, Adkins has pioneered a mix of classic Country minded traditionalism and adventurous, good-natured showmanship, breaking open new avenues in modern Country through fun-filled hits like “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” and “Hillbilly Bone” (with Blake Shelton). He’ll celebrate the silver anniversary of his album debut in 2021 with THE WAY I WANNA GO, doing exactly what he always has – mixing pure-Country reverence with standout collaborations featuring Blake Shelton, Melissa Etheridge, Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder on harmonica and more. Adkins’ newest single “Where The Country Girls At” (featuring Luke Bryan and Pitbull) is available everywhere now.

First Washington County Annual
Juneteenth Author Showcase
Hagerstown, MD -- On Saturday, June 11, the Maryland Black Chamber of Commerce will partner with The F.O.C.U.S (Fun, Opportunity, Unwavering, Success) Trainer to host a Juneteenth Author Showcase. Seven African American authors who reside in Washington County, Maryland will be showcased. The youngest participating author is 12-years old. The showcase will be held at The Meeting Room, located at 11377 Robinwood Dr, Hagerstown, MD., 21742 from 2-4:45 PM.
At the conclusion of the showcase a symbolic "Walk of Freedom" will be held. This walk (from The Meeting Room, 11377 Robinwood Dr, Hagerstown, MD., 21742 to Eliz Lounge, 11353 Robinwood Dr, Hagerstown, MD., 21742) will be in remembrance of those who lost their lives pursuing literacy during periods of persecution. Participants will walk as a community and come together for what is being called the Celebration of Freedom. The Celebration of Freedom will offer attendees the opportunity to fellowship while supporting Black-owned businesses from the surrounding community.
Juneteenth is the celebration of the emancipation of enslaved African people in the United States. During the American Slavery Era, the punishment for a person of color who even attempted to read a book was death. This Juneteenth event will showcase the progress people of color have made as a nation and to pay reverence to those who dared to learn to read and write while putting their lives at risk.
This event is free and open to the public, but reservations are encouraged and available through Eventbrite - Juneteenth Author Showcase at The Meeting Room.
For more information about the Juneteenth Author Showcase please visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/juneteenth-author-showcase-tickets-298020636747 or contact Cherish McMillan at mcmillancherish@gmail.com.

The Maryland Theatre presents
The Lettermen
Original Date Friday, March 4, 2022
This show has been postponed to Sunday, June 12, 2022
| |
For more than 50 years, The Lettermen-- Donovan Tea, Bobby Poynton, and Rob Gulack, each of whom are entertainers in their own right—have kept the meaning of harmony alive with their soft, romantic, harmonic blend of music which is as popular with their fans today as it was in 1961 when they recorded their first hit, “The Way You Look Tonight”. Though musical tastes have changed over the years, The Lettermen legacy continues. Harmony will always endure the true test of time—just as The Lettermen have stood the test of time.
