‘Can’t believe this is mine’: People with mental health challenges get new home in Broward

Thank you to The Miami Herald’s Raisa Habersham and Carl Juste for visiting our members in Pembroke Pines and sharing their inspiring stories!


Our new Clubhouse in Pembroke Pines is a significant step forward, featuring both a teaching kitchen and dedicated housing for our members. The development, Southwest Hammocks, is in partnership with Carrfour Supportive Housing, enhancing affordable and supportive housing in Miami.

Foot Print to Success Clubhouse CEO Barbara Harmon said that having housing for the organization’s members was always part of her vision. “Having permanent housing like Carrfour is, I think, is one of the best things that can happen to them,” Barbara said. “ ... It provides stability to them, and they’re in a safe environment, where they didn’t have that before.”

CEO Barbara Harmon Receives EPIC Award

We are thrilled to announce that our CEO, Barbara Harmon, has been selected as an Honoree for Mental Health America of Southeast Florida's 28th annual EPIC Awards!


For 14 years, Barbara has led Foot Print to Success Clubhouse, advancing support for adults with severe mental illness through community integration, job placements, education, and social programs. Her leadership has greatly expanded mental health resources in Broward County. The Exceptional People Impacting the Community (EPIC) Awards honor those making a significant impact on mental health and wellness. Proceeds support vital programs and advocacy efforts by Mental Health America.

Clubhouse Update: Pembroke Pines

We’re excited to share that progress is underway at our new Clubhouse location in Pembroke Pines. Some of our members have already moved into their new homes, and the Clubhouse is about to open. However, the kitchen, which will provide essential culinary training, is still under construction. We look forward to completing this final phase and fully opening our doors to support and empower our community.
