OCC Release Proof-of-Vaccination Framework for Organizations
|
The Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC), with guidance from legal experts at McCarthy Tétrault, released Vax-Pass Tenets, a proof-of-vaccination framework to support reopening plans for Ontario private sector businesses. The Framework outlines five guiding principles for private sector businesses to adopt in the development of their independent proof-of-vaccination frameworks in the absence of a domestic system.

|
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the City of Mississauga has been a leader in implementing public health measures to protect residents and its employees. As many organizations and businesses announce internal employees vaccine policies, including the City of Toronto’s mandatory vaccine policy, the City of Mississauga remains in consultation with the Medical Officer of Health, its legal and human resources teams, as well its employees, to understand the implications of a stronger employee vaccination policy.

Mayor Bonnie Crombie and Councillors Karen Ras (Ward 2) and Chris Fonseca (Ward 3), attended the Association of Municipalities of Ontario’s (AMO) 2021 virtual conference this week where they met with government officials, including cabinet ministers, MPPs and industry stakeholders. The Mississauga delegation discussed the issues facing the City and the priorities of Mississauga, including, promoting housing affordability, investing in sustainable infrastructure, leading recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, revisions to the GTAA PILT formula, and building new transit and transportation networks, among many more.
