Dr. Villanueva has been selected to participate in the inaugural cohort of the Aspen Institute’s Presidents Fellowship. Leaders were selected through a competitive process based on their commitment to student success and equity, willingness to take bold steps to improve outcomes, understanding of the importance of community partnerships, and ability to lead lasting change aimed at improving student outcomes. As a fellow, Dr. Villanueva will spend a year learning from and collaborating with top community college experts to sharpen strategic reform strategies.
For the second consecutive year, Lee College is celebrating its highest enrollment in the institution’s 89-year history. The Lee College Board of Regents has appointed former Lee College employee Pam Warford to fill the position vacated by long-time regent Pete Alfaro. Warford retired from her position as executive director of the Lee College Foundation and the Office of Resource Development in 2020. Read more.
Beethoven, Frida Kahlo and Shakespeare – in all of their bold, colorful glory – now grace the entrance to the Visual and Performing Arts Center, thanks to former Lee College student Evelyn Legra Brauet. Legra Brauet (left photo) designed and installed this beautiful mural with the help of art students. It represents the Liberal and Fine Arts Pathway of arts, music and theater. Legra Brauet is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of St. Thomas. She also designed a mural in the courtyard of the McNulty-Haddick Nursing complex for nursing students, faculty and staff to enjoy.
