SRL Midseason Time Trials


Congratulations to all of our SRL teams who performed their best during the recent time trials. Consistency

was a challenge due to the changing weather and river conditions each night. The time trials were held

because of the weather-related cancellation of the SRL Midseason Regatta.


The following categories will be used at the August 10 th SRL Championship Regatta:

  1. Novices
  2. Novice/Experienced
  3. Women's
  4. Top 1/2 Experienced
  5. 2nd 1/2 Experienced

Masters team take on the competition at the Independence Day Regatta on the

Schuylkill River

WRRA faced some very challenging competition on the Schuylkill River near the famed Boathouse Row at the end of June. We fielded

6 boats and found ourselves on the podium in three of them.

WRRA REGATTA MERCHANDISE SALE!



The WRRA Merchandise Tent will be open from 8:30am-12:00pm on Saturday, August 10th at the SRL Championship Regatta. The Rower vs. Freighter apparel is back by popular demand featuring a new ship! Cash, checks and Venmo will be accepted.

WRRA Board of Directors Treasurer

We are looking for a qualified WRRA member to fill the two (2) year appointed Treasurer (Director of Finance) position on the WRRA Board. The Treasurer oversees all financial transactions of WRRA and ensures the timely planning, preparation and presentation of the annual budget, financial reports, and tax returns in coordination with the WRRA bookkeeper. In addition, the Treasurer is responsible for managing the club’s accounts and overseeing all income and expenditures, including processing deposits, program timesheets and invoices and managing the cash flow and financial records of WRRA. 


The ideal person has the vision for the long-term financial success of WRRA while handling the day-to-day financial details of all the WRRA’s programs. At least five (5) years of Accounting or Finance experience is preferred.


The new Treasurer’s term will begin on November 9, 2024. If interested in the position of Treasurer on the WRRA Board of Directors, please contact Martha Rini at governance@westernreserverowing.com

BIG EVENTS AT THE BOATHOUSE


On Sunday, July 14, the Cleveland Rowing Foundation (CRF) served as the host site for rowing for the International Pan-American Masters Games (PAMG). This was the first time that the PAMG were held in the United States. We made the city of Cleveland, and the rowing community proud. PAMG organizers, partner organizations and athletes alike had high praise. 


Several WRRA teams competed and earned gold medals.

We could not have done it without the many volunteers from WRRA and other CRF member organizations. With this once-in-a-lifetime event behind us, we are now ramping up to host 2,000 high school, collegiate and adult rowers for the Head of the Cuyahoga (HOTC) on September 21. Please plan to join us as an athlete or volunteer.
