FCT Presents Seussical JR.

Seuss’ classic stories retold in an uplifting musical!

Fauquier Community Theatre’s summer youth program actors could not be more excited to be on stage for the production of Seussical JR!

In this family-friendly musical, the Cat in the Hat guides the audience through the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a town of tiny people on a speck of dust. Despite the many challenges Horton faces, he doesn't give up on his friends. This charming musical will be performed at the Fauquier Community Theatre from July 27th to August 4th.

From the Director Marie-Louise Lyon:

"Seussical is such a fun, dynamic and imaginative show that will enthrall audiences of all ages! This musical allows our cast of about 40 youth performers to portray dynamic characters, develop strong vocals, and experience different dancing styles. The show is full of fun for both performers and audiences! We can't wait to bring the magical world of Seussical to Fauquier Community Theater audiences!"

Fun for all ages! Fauquier Community Theatre presents six performances of the musical Seussical JR!

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR., a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

Seussical JR. has many audience favorite musical numbers including "Oh the Things you Can Think," "Alone in the Universe," and "Notice Me, Horton."

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos.

Directed and choreographed by Marie-Louise Lyon with music director Larke Pain! Assistant director Jennifer Ayers, costumer Mia Dalusung, Stage Manager Genevieve Layton, and Lighting Designer Cody Yeatman all add to the festive creativity of the show!

From the Assistant Director Jennifer Ayers:

"Growing up in the FCT family was formative to my passion for theater. Rehearsing for and performing live theater is one of the best ways for children to gain confidence. There’s no activity better for learning teamwork, accountability, and community-mindedness than being in a show like this!"

The production is by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Annie Get Your Gun will be the first show of the Fauquier Community Theatre 2024 - 2025 Season!

The musical Annie Get Your Gun is the highly fictionalized story of Annie Oakley, one of the world’s most famous sharpshooters. Written by Irving Berlin and Herbert and Dorothy Fields, the 1946 musical celebrates her stormy, competitive relationship with Frank Butler, a dashing vaudeville marksman, as they tour the country as the stars of “Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show.”

The show boasts classic songs by Irving Berlin, a brand new revised book by Peter Stone and direction and choreography by Graciela Daniele (Ragtime). The score features some of Irving Berlin's most beloved songs, including "There's No Business Like Show Business," "You Can't Get A Man With A Gun," "Doin' What Comes Naturally" and "Anything You Can Do."

The musical is directed by Jeff Walker with music director Doray Walker. The production is by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.

Congratulations to the cast! Elizabeth Steimel has been cast as Annie Oakley and the cast list is on the home page of FCT's website at www.FCTstage.org. Scroll down the home page to see the post.
