SEPTEMBER 2023 NEWSLETTER

BUSINESS | COMMUNITY | PEOPLE

The La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce (LGACOC) is a nonprofit member organization established to support local businesses in 1950, one hundred years after the City itself was incorporated. LGACOC relies on membership dues and fundraising activities to support its operations.

There are two (2) Board of Directors vacancies. We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about growing our community, communicative, and willing to put in the hard work now. If you have the time, and ideas on how to improve the Chamber and its service to its Members and the wider Community, please email chamber@lagrangetx.org for an application form.

The Chamber met with the Mayor and the Ag. City Manager on September 27 to discuss partnership with the City, La Grange Economic Development Corporation, and Main Street. The Chamber will be presenting its proposal to City Council in November or December 2023.

The Chamber is working with stakeholders in the community to find solutions for “Childcare” issues. The 4th meeting was held on September 28 - ZOOM ONLINE. The Childcare Business Consultant from Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area will be performing a needs assessment for childcare providers. If you know a childcare provider, please ask them to contact the Chamber for more information. *Information will be kept private & confidential*

LGACOC strategic planning meeting was held on September 29 at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club. Special thank you to our volunteer Board of Directors for participating and the club for sponsoring the delicious meals.

We received 31 responses to the membership survey seeking your input to guide our strategic planning; Security Finance won the weekend for 2 courtesy Hostie Vacation Rentals. Thank you to everyone who responded. Your responses greatly influenced the outcomes of the strategic planning session. The Chamber will publish the final approved Strategic Plan and Action Plan once completed.

Our Chamber consultant was Ms. Diane Probst from Chamberology.
