Updates For Our Community

Dear Hallett Families,

We had another great week of learning! Picture day will be Monday, October 2nd. Please see below for more information on how to order pictures of your student.

Our Fall Festival will be held on Tuesday, October 31st. The parade will begin at 3:20pm. Families are welcome to watch the parade as we parade outside the school and into the playground. The Festival will be held after school from 4:15-5:30pm, and students must have adult supervision in order to attend the festival.

Please keep reading this week's newsletter for all important updates and reminders.

Have a great weekend Hallett Hawks!

Arrival and Dismissal

When students arrive to school everyday, they are welcomed inside after 8:40 a.m. Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade may go to the cafeteria for breakfast or directly to class. Please note that breakfast service stops promptly at 8:55 a.m. If your child(ren) comes to school after 8:55 a.m. you must accompany them to the office and sign them in.

Though our last bell of the day rings at 3:50 p.m., we dismiss at 3:45 p.m. daily. Please make sure that your child(ren) knows exactly what the plan for transportation is. It's disheartening to see sad faces at the end of the day because children don't know who is picking them up, or when.... If you need care for your children after school, please read below a message from our Discovery Link team, and reach out to the Boys and Girls Club, as they provide transportation to care for children after the school day is done.

  • Monday, October 2: Picture Day
  • Monday, October 9: Non-Student Contact Day - No School for students
  • Thursday, October 12: Professional Learning Day - No School for students
  • Friday, October 13: Vacation Day - No School for students
  • Monday, October 16: Family Conference Day - No School for students

School Nurse Updates

Dear Hallett families,

As we head into another cold and flu season, I would like to remind everyone of the DPS policies on illness and exclusion. It helps our school stay as healthy as possible if you keep your child home when there is a known illness or clear symptoms. Return to school after a fever is 24 hours fever free WITHOUT fever-reducing medications, including any cold medicine with acetaminophen on the label. DPS and therefore Hallett follows the Colorado Department of Health’s guide here:

You may see a BinaxNow COVID test kit in your student’s backpack if I send them home from school early. I am not allowed to administer the tests at school, but I have a large supply of lovingly donated tests that will expire (according to the FDA extension: https://www.fda.gov/media/158003/download) in December. Feel free to use those however best serves your family and contact me if you need more tests.

If your child has asthma, remember that cold weather is coming and we will need an inhaler at school. Most elementary school aged students are not able to self-carry. If needed, the nurse can contact doctors with your signed consent to help obtain the necessary documents, but an asthma attack with no medication is a 9-1-1 call!

Thank you for your help keeping our little Hallett Hawks safe and healthy at school

Consider Supporting Hallett

The Kroger Family of Companies is committed to community engagement, positive social impact and charitable giving at the national and local levels. Every community is unique, but our common goal is to partner with the neighborhoods we serve and help the people there live healthier lives.

One of the ways in which we do this is through our King Soopers Community Rewards program. This program makes fundraising easy by donating to local organizations based on the shopping you do every day. Once you link your Card to an organization, all you have to do is shop at King Soopers and swipe your Shopper’s Card. Here’s how it works:

1. Create a digital account.

A digital account is needed to participate in King Soopers Community Rewards. If you already have a digital account, simply link your Shopper’s Card to your account so that all transactions apply toward the organization you choose.

2. Link your Card to an organization.

Selecting the organization that you wish to support is as simple as updating the King Soopers Community Rewards selection on your account.

1. Sign in to your account.

2. Search for your organization here.

3. Enter the name the organization you wish to support.

4. Select the appropriate organization from the list and click “Save”.

Your selected organization will also display in the King Soopers Community Rewards section of your account.

3. Your organization earns.

Any transactions moving forward using the Shopper’s Card number associated with your digital account will be applied to the program, at no added cost to you. King Soopers donates annually to participating organizations based on your percentage of spending as it relates to the total spending associated with all participating King Soopers Community Rewards organizations.

If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Service Center.
