We know many of you are going into overdrive to prepare for final exams and graduation! Since this might be a stressful time, we are hosting a chill drop-in coffee and tea hour to help you relax. There are also more end-of-year events, resources, and programs below in this newsletter.

Do you need help working on your final essays of the quarter? No matter your major Learning Support Services offers peer-to-peer one-hour individual appointments to help you brainstorm your essays, learn revision strategies, and how to write in-text citations.

PoCSC is teaming up with several campus partners to facilitate a BIPOC Biker DEI Focus Group later in the month. We want to ensure that campus resources dedicated to biking accessibility, safety, and training, etc. are as inclusive, equitable, and comprehensive as possible.
You are invited to join us for lunch and discussion to brainstorm future possibilities together. We hope to use this meeting as a springboard to build our campus' biking community, and the necessary infrastructures to do so.
This focus group will center BIPOC-identifying campus students, staff, and faculty, with capacity for ~15 to join in total. If you're interested in joining, email us at pocsc@ucsc.edu and provide us with any dietary restrictions or allergies you have. If you can't make it but would like to stay informed, let us know.

Santa Cruz Launchpad 2022

Location: Cowell Ranch Historic Bay Barn (in person)
The event begins with student teams competing in the pitch competition with the chance to win $40,000 in cash prizes. In parallel, job seekers will have the opportunity to interact with 10-15 local companies offering 200+ jobs including engineering, marketing, project management, sales, and customer support.
This event allows students, job seekers, professionals, and employers the opportunity to show off their resumes and career opportunities and make new connections.
This is one of our biggest events of the year, with as many as 500 attendees. There is no charge to attend but registration in advance is required.

AA/PI/SWANA Year End Celebration

The Asian American/Pacific Islander Resource is hosting AA/PI/SWANA Year-End Celebration for the class of 2022!
This ceremony acknowledges and celebrates the academic achievements and contributions of graduating students in the AA/PI/SWANA community at UC Santa Cruz.
It will consist of keynote speakers, student speakers, performances, awards/scholarships, a sashing ceremony, and a food reception.

Chicanx Latinx Slug Crossing

This year's Commencement will consist of a virtual commencement ceremony and in-person stage crossing experience - Slug Crossing!
El Centro will host a Chicanx Latinx Slug Crossing. This will give you the opportunity to walk the stage and share your special moment with other Chicanx Latinx students, family, and community members.
You can sign up to walk during the Chicanx Latinx Slug Crossing, even if you have also signed up to walk with your College during their Slug Crossing time.

UC Undergraduate Experience Survey (UCUES)
|
The survey is about being a student at UCSC – your academic work, access to classes, satisfaction with advising and campus services, and future plans.
Your responses help improve life for students by giving important feedback to academic programs and student services. All undergraduate students at UCSC and other UC campuses are invited to participate in UCUES every other spring.
Students who complete the survey will be eligible for prize drawings of gift cards, ranging from $50 - $200.

Summer is a great time to catch up or get ahead with the hundreds of in-person and remote classes available! Tuition rates are the same for resident and non-resident students.

Waseda University: ICC Language Lunches
|
Dates: June 3 - June 17
Time: 20:20 - 21:15 Pacific Time
At Waseda ICC Language Lunches, everyone is welcome, from beginners to native speakers! Come to practice Japanese, English, Indonesian, or Korean.
You don’t have to speak the target language fluently, just come along and enjoy chatting with other people from various backgrounds about their countries and cultures. It’s a great way to make new friends from around the world! Participation is free.
All APRU students are invited to attend. The deadline to register is May 31, 2022.
