Legislative Advocacy - Key Role Supporting Our Members

The NCPP Legislative Advocacy Working Group continues to monitor and act on proposed legislation that may support cooperative procurement. During the last two months, two states have gotten our attention:

North Dakota - proposed legislation SB 2370 will amend the North Dakota Century Code, subsection 4 of 11.11.14 to empower the board of county commissioners to contract for cooperative purchases consistent with the joint-powers agreement under chapter 54-40.3, and ultimately allow cities and counties to use this contracting tool.

Ohio - proposed legislation SB23 seeks to clarify the ability for Ohio political subdivisions to procure construction services through cooperative procurement. The third hearing was held, with NCPP providing support. A vote is soon expected.
