Updates from our
Head of School

Hello Marblehead Community Charter Families,

Among the many things that make our school special is the Enrichment program. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays students have an opportunity to participate in Enrichment courses that are run by faculty, staff, parents, community members, or students. There is a menu of options for students to select for each day of the program. In addition to our athletics teams, musical groups, and the theater program, we try to provide a wide variety of options. Below you can find the Enrichment menu for the first trimester. The Enrichment program will begin on Monday October 3, though sports, theater, and music may already be meeting.

Please review the options with your child so that they can make approved choices on a Google Form beginning Friday. While we try to give everyone their top choice, we do ask students to select their top three choices for each day so that we can balance class sizes.

We rely on parents to teach Enrichment courses, so that we can share community expertise with our students. Please consider volunteering to assist with an Enrichment during this first trimester and then run a course next trimester.

For 4th graders, we assign Enrichment courses for the first trimester. This includes introductions to technology, introduction to MCCPS, and a book club. Later in the year we will also teach the 4th graders public speaking skills.

Please read on for updates from the PTO, information about the Governance Committee, and ways you can support our school by making your contribution to the Student Success Fund, directly fund the new signs at the school, or participate. in the Electronics Recycling Drive on October 1.

We look forward to seeing all parents/guardians at our Curriculum Night on Monday October 3. Don't miss this important overview of our Criteria For Excellence and grade level curriculum.

We also hope to see many of you at the Coffee Friday morning at 8am to meet the Principal and the Dean of Students.

PTO Corner/Updates

  • The Lyman Pie Sale has officially launched! Be sure to set up your online "store" and get your pie orders in before Friday, October 14th! All orders are done online, making it super easy. These pies are great for the holidays & freeze well. As a reminder, the pies will be delivered to the school for pick-up on November 18th. As an added incentive, the winner will get to throw a whipped cream pie in the face of an MCCPS staff/teacher.
