TOMORROW

Representative John Kuempel

Chair of the House Higher Education Committee

This week we are joined by Rep. John Kuempel, who serves as Chair of the House Higher Education Committee. For decades the left has viewed Colleges and Universities as incubators for radical leftist ideology. Since Biden has been president, their efforts have been in overdrive. The left wants to take as much ground as they can while taking advantage of the current administration's support.

Recently we had a guest who shed light on the detrimental impact of "DEI" initiatives. If you missed the call, you can watch it online here. However, it is crucial not to miss our upcoming talk with Chairman Kuempel. There is mounting opposition to DEI initiatives, and several bills are currently being debated to address these concerns. It is unfortunate that higher education faces not only the issue of DEI, but also the left's efforts to undermine women's sports. While there were once commendable efforts to provide women with more opportunities in collegiate sports, the left is now actively seeking to destroy these opportunities. Chairman Kuempel is actively involved in the discussion and decision-making process, and we eagerly anticipate hearing from him.

As usual we also look forward to the insight and perspectives of Sen. Bryan HughesRep. Jacey Jetton and Rep. Stephanie Klick. It is understandable to be anxious about all the leftwing craziness out there, but Texas is not going quietly into the night. Encouraging legislators as we push back against the radical left starts with the grassroots. We hope you can join us!

Republican-Led States Are Driving Job Growth

While Democrats continue to spend, fuel inflation, and endorse bad economic policy, Republican governors and state legislatures continue to deliver economic prosperity for the American people.

What you need to know:

  • The Biden-Harris economic agenda has caused nothing but pain and misery for American families.
  • Americans are poorer under the Biden economy.
  • Workers want higher wages and under Biden’s economy, wages were at their lowest level in months.
  • Inflation is continuing to eat up any gains as it remains above 5%.
  • 72% of middle-class families say they are financially falling behind because of inflation.
  • The average American’s real disposable income is lower than when Biden took office.
  • Republican-led states are the ones creating jobs and leading the economic recovery.
  • The latest state jobs report shows that 8 of the top 10 states for jobs recovered since the coronavirus pandemic began are led by Republican governors, and all 10 states have Republican-controlled legislatures.
  • One of these states – Arizona – had a Republican governor up until January.
  • Out of the top 12 states with the lowest unemployment rates, 10 are led by Republican governors.
  • Americans are voting with their feet, with Democrat-run states seeing a mass exodus as families and businesses are flocking to Republican-led states.
  • The top 10 counties that saw the largest decreases in population in 2022 are all located in states led by Democrat governors, with these counties home to Democrat-run cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Philadelphia, and Detroit

The bottom line:

Republican governors and legislatures have built economic engines even in the face of massive inflationary headwinds from Joe Biden and Congressional Democrats. If you want an economy that works for you, vote Republican.

Every Day Is Tax Day Under Biden

This week, Tax Day came and went, but under the Biden administration, high taxes and bad economic policies are here to stay.

What you need to know:

The bottom line:

Americans cannot afford more of Biden's bad policies

Over 6.3 Million Illegal Crossings

Biden's border crisis only continues to get worse and worse each day, putting the safety of border patrol, law enforcement, and everyday Americans in jeopardy.

What you need to know:

  • Customs and Border Protection data released this week shows 191,899 illegal immigrants  were apprehended attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border in March.
  • This is the second highest total for March in 22 years.
  • This is the first time in history that monthly apprehensions at the southern border have surpassed 150,000 for 25 consecutive months.
  • March’s 191,000-plus encounters is a 274% increase from the average number of March apprehensions from 2017-2020.
  • 12,374 unaccompanied children were apprehended.
  • 77,010 illegal immigrants were apprehended from countries outside the Northern Triangle and Mexico, showing that Biden’s crisis is global.
  • At least 80 people on the terror watchlist  have been apprehended trying to enter the U.S. between ports of entry so far this fiscal year.
  • More than 6.3 million  illegal immigrants have crossed the border since Biden took office.
  • This includes the 1.3 million gotaways have escaped past Border Patrol into the U.S.
  • Border officials say that the official number of gotaways  vastly undercounts the illegal immigrants who make it into the U.S.
  • Homeland Security Investigations estimates that Mexican cartels are now making $13 billion a year smuggling illegal immigrants into the U.S.
  • Illicit drugs are flowing into the country at an alarming rate.
  • 2,848 pounds of deadly fentanyl and  13,639 pounds of methamphetamine were seized at the southern border in March alone, with much more getting through.
  • The amount of fentanyl seized in March is the equivalent of more than 645 million lethal doses.
  • Biden and Mayorkas have insisted the border is “secure.” They are lying.
  • Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz told the Homeland Security Committee we do NOT have operational control of our border .

The bottom line:

This is the worst border crisis on record. Republican leaders in Congress will continue to hold Biden and the Democrats accountable for the humanitarian crisis they created.
