Office News
Lost and Found
Lost and Found is overflowing!! Please have your student check the Lost and Found for any missing clothing items, shoes, books, notebooks, lunch boxes and water containers. Clothing items will be donated after school on Friday, March 11 before Spring Break. Lunch boxes, water bottles and pencil bags will be disposed of at that time. It is very helpful if lunch boxes and water containers are labeled with the student’s name. This way we can call students to the Front Office and try and return items before they are disposed of or donated.
There is a separate Lost & Found at the Front Desk for more valuable items (eye glasses, retainers, jewelry, laptop chargers) so please have your student check with Mrs. Gulliver for those types of items. Thank you!
Candy Needed
Have extra candy laying around the house that the kids don’t want? Consider donating it to Officer Roberson who gives it out between classes a few times a week.
Thank you in advance,
Officer Roberson
Note from the CISD Child Nutrition Department
Dear Dragon Families:
We want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we had to adjust our menu options the last couple weeks due to staffing shortages. We are in a situation where we can return to our regular menu options at all campuses starting next week. We will continue to monitor our staffing and may have to adjust accordingly in the future.
Also, if your child has a negative balance in their lunch account you will be receiving an automated email message from “MySchoolBucks” letting you know about the negative balance.
Thank you in advance for your continued support and flexibility throughout this time.
Regards,
CISD Child Nutrition Department

Yearbook News
Pictures Needed
Do you have pictures from off campus PE, etc.? Please use the information above or click on the link below to submit pictures. The picture needs to be a high-resolution, candid (not posing for the camera) photo. If anyone in the photo does not attend CMS, I cannot use the photo because of FERPA requirements. Be sure to include who is in the picture as well as any additional information about it including the photographer.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Academic UIL
Students will need to attend practices once a week, if they are unable to attend they will need to contact the event coach and make arrangements. Students can compete in no more than five events. Please look at the event schedule carefully, they cannot compete in events that are competing at the same time.
The UIL competition date will be held on Saturday, March 26 at Adams Middle School in Haslet and they must attend so please make sure that they are available. They will be part of a team that depends on them to compete.
You must use your school email when filling out the google form. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Cashon at lori.cashon@southlakecarroll.edu or students can stop by Mrs. Cashon's room, D102 the animal science room.

Career Day - March 9
CMS is recruiting local business men and women to share their careers with our students! Career Day is designed to give students "real life" information about careers in which they have an interest and an opportunity to ask questions. If you are interested in volunteering to be a Career Day Speaker, or know someone who might be interested in participating, please contact Jane Kea, 7th grade Counselor. Jane.Kea@southlakecarroll.edu
STOPit - Hotline reporting system
STOPit is an online reporting tool that allows us the opportunity to intervene with at risk students before they hurt themselves or someone else. It also expands beyond helping those at immediate risk of self-harm but also to support students who are struggling socially or emotionally in other areas.
Our students will have access to the STOPit mobile app which has two simple but powerful features.
Report can be used by students to report incidents to school contacts anonymously.
Messenger can be used to engage in anonymous two-way communication with school contacts.
You can find more information about STOPit on our CMS Counseling Page under the Counseling Tab. If you have any questions, feel free to contact one of our counselors or administrators.
If you have a concern and you would like for a counselor to meet with your child, please contact your child's grade level counselor via email or phone.
