JOIN US FOR MASS THIS WEEKEND
|
|
Saturday at 5:00pm
Sunday at 9:00am
Sunday at 11:00am
PRACTICE OF CHARITY
"God raised this Jesus; of this we are all witnesses." Though we did not see the events in first-century Jerusalem with our physical eyes, we are witnesses. But where do we see the resurrection we proclaim? On the road to Emmaus, the disciples gradually come to recognize Jesus' presence among them. Spend today looking at each person you encounter as though he or she is Jesus. See Jesus in the toddler midtrantrum, the coworker who brought you coffee as well as the one who said an unkind word, and the person outside the store with the sign and the cup.
Please continue to self-screen. Stay home if you are not feeling well and celebrate Mass with us via livestream. We are doing our best to continue to provide a safe space to worship for everyone. Click here to see current COVID safety measures.

ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL 2023 BEGINS
|
|
“Give, and it will be given to you.” Luke 6:23 is the theme of this year’s Annual Catholic Appeal, and this weekend kicks off the 2023 Campaign. The Annual Catholic Appeal funds ministries and services for your local Catholic community across Western Washington. This combined effort of parishes and missions ensures the availability of outreach ministries, education, faith formation, administration services for parishes and much more! You should have received Archbishop Etienne’s in-depth letter this week highlighting the ministries that support our communities. Please prayerfully consider how you can participate in helping our parish be a light to others. It’s easy to give to the ACA online at archseattle.org/GiveACA.

Thank you to Connie DuPuis for generously sharing her time and talent to grace our sanctuary with blooms this Easter season and throughout the liturgical year.
|
|
Many people of our parish gave much time and talent to make our Easter Triduum a beautiful, prayerful experience. A word of heartfelt thanks goes out to all who brought life to these liturgies, especially:
- To all those who helped to decorate and create a beautiful liturgical environment and schedule our liturgical ministers.
- St. John Vianney Music Ministry led by Margaret Graham, Cantors, Choir, and Musicians
- Liturgical Ministers who served at our liturgies.
- To the family members who supported those who were received into the church.
- All those involved, parents and sponsors, in preparing our Elect and Candidate to receive sacraments during the Easter Vigil.
- Lynae Leptich for hosting the Easter Vigil Reception.
- All the volunteers who filled eggs for the egg hunt.
- Fr. Vu for his prayerful leadership.
|
|
Prayers for those who received the Sacraments of Initiation at our Easter Vigil:
- Molly Burdeen
- Florencia Garcia
- Nguyen Thao Ho
- Dennis Robert Cone
- Brent William Reiner
- Alexander Ford Whicker
- Eric T. Maggard
- Michael Bonnet
May they be strengthened and blessed in the faith and grow ever closer to You. Help us to support them through our prayers and friendships. And use us and them, according to Your will to lead others to You.

If anyone in the SJV community is a caterer, works for a caterer, or knows a great caterer - please reach out to Ann V. at avandewark@sjvkirkland.org. We would like the opportunity to support one of our own. Also, everyone is welcome to join us in planning for the Gala.
