Description: An older knife and cannot remember what year it was purchased. Never used nor even carried in the bush but have used in kitchen preparing and eating. Steel is probably carbon as it will stick a magnet. Blade 5-1/8 inches approximately. Does have some minor staining on cutting edge (see pictures). Hollow ground. Handle is approximately 4-3/8 inches long, and I have been told pinned Elk Slabs. Uncertain the model number possibly a 27... Bought this knife from the Montana Factory way back when working fire and a bunch of Fire Fighters came from the USA to help with an Ontario Fire Emergency... My thoughts: it is a beautiful, well built, tough knife that if it holds true to the Ruana Tradition, could be used for generations with a minimum of care and maintenance. NOT A THROWING KNIFE!!!
