2023 AOT Research and Innovation Symposium Postponed

After the July flooding in Vermont and the many efforts towards recovery, AOT has decided to not hold an in-person AOT Research and Innovation Symposium this year. They are already planning next year’s Symposium. You can view their research project pages here.

Assess Clean Water Projects for Flood Impacts

Project sponsors can assess the status and condition of DEC-funded Clean Water projects to learn which ones did or did not succeed and why. Do You Know Your Municipality’s ERAF Rating?

FEMA pays 75% of eligible costs for a federally declared disaster. Through Emergency Relief Assistance Funding, the state and municipality share the remaining 25% of eligible costs based on a municipality’s mitigation actions. Use this website to verify your municipality’s cost share.

FEMA Seeking Multi-Family Residences

FEMA wants to hear from multi-family unit owners and landlords as it looks to temporarily house flood victims whose homes are uninhabitable. The Multi-Family Lease and Repair program allows FEMA to make improvements to existing units, bring them up to code, and then house flood victims for a minimum of 18 months.

If interested, you must reach out to FEMA by September 12, 2023. The first step is to send FEMA an email. Here is the information they are looking for.

MERP Energy Assessment Deadline Has Been Shortened!

The deadline to apply for free Level 1 and Level 2 Energy Resilience Assessments through the Municipal Energy Resilience Program has been moved up to 10/31. Buildings must be municipally owned (but perpetually leased facilities may be eligible). School Safety State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program

The State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) provides funding to help states, local governments, and territories address cybersecurity risks and cybersecurity threats to information systems. The program enables targeted cybersecurity investments in recipient agencies, thus improving the security of critical infrastructure and resilience of the services that state, local, and territorial governments provide to their communities. HUD HOPE VI Main Street Program

Applications for the Department of Housing and Urban Development HOPE VI Main Street Program are now open. The program's purpose is to provide grants to small communities to assist in the renovation of an historic or traditional central business district, or "Main Street" area, by replacing unused, obsolete, commercial space in buildings with affordable housing units. NBRC Forest Economy Program

The Northern Border Regional Commission is accepting letters of interest for the fall 2023 round of the Forest Economy Program. The Commission’s Forest Economy Program (FEP) supports the regional forest-based economy and the industry’s evolution to include new technologies and viable business models across the 4-state NBRC region. Organizations interested in applying for funding are encouraged to attend an information session.   

 

Letters of Interest will be accepted from all eligible applicants no later than 5:00 p.m. EST September 22, 2023. LOI required information should be submitted as one PDF and sent to fep@nbrc.gov.
