2022 Annual Assessments:
2022 Assessments were due January 31. If you have not paid yours, you have a few days to drop it off before a fee is assessed. There is a locked drop box at the Community Center for your convenience. Please contact me with any questions.

Celebrating Career Anniversaries:
Congratulations to John Evans, Covenants Coordinator, and Abby Grimes, Lifestyle Director. They are celebrating 4 (John) and 3 (Abby) years with CCMC and Highland Shores this month. We are thankful for their hard work over the years!

Important ARC Information:
If you plan to make any outdoor improvements, please remember to submit your application. The Modification and New Construction Committees will meet February 4 and February 18. Submittals are due the Wednesday prior by 3:00 PM. If you have specific guideline questions, please contact John Evans.

Holiday Décor Reminder:
Please remember to remove your outdoor holiday lighting and decorations by February 1.

Spring 2022 Soccer Draw
Wednesday, February 9
6:00 PM

Any team interested in practicing on the soccer fields must attend the Spring 2022 Soccer Draw at the Community Center. The parent representing each team must be a Highland Shores resident. The draw is held lottery-style. Teams may be able to select two practice times, depending on the number of teams participating.

Food Truck Friday | The Pet Treat Truck

The Pet Treat Truck will kick off our 2022 Food Truck Friday series!

They carry a variety of different pet treats including cookies, ice cream, doggy beer, cat wine, and of course, toys!

Bondi Bowls will be serving up acai bowls, fresh squeezed lemonade, snow cones, and more on Earth Day at the Community Center.

Spring Community-Wide Garage Sales

Let the spring cleaning begin! Whether you're planning your own sale or getting ready to find some great bargains, please join us for the Community-Wide Garage Sales. Homeowners set their own hours for their individual garage sales. We provide an advertising banner at the entrance of the community.

Hop on over for our annual spring celebration! This free event will feature egg hunts, The Bubble Bus, and a visit from The Easter Bunny.

Bring a basket to collect eggs and enjoy a fun afternoon with your neighbors.

Spring Tennis Academy

Bad Dawg Tennis Tennis Academy offers junior (ages 5-13) classes and adult classes at Tennis Courts 5-8.

Spring Tennis League

The Women's Spring Tennis League, for players Level 3.0 and up, will begin Wednesday, March 2 at 9:00 AM on Courts 7 and 8.

Swim Team

Registration opens on March 1 for ALL Highland Shores residents, including new and returning swimmers.

Swim Team Open House
Sunday, March 27
4:00-6:00 PM

Our recreational and competitive swim program is a Swim North Texas team focusing on improving skills, building confidence and endurance, and having fun! Highland Village residents ages 5 and up by June 1, 2022 are eligible to join.

The cost for our program is $175 per swimmer ($15 sibling discount applies) and includes age group swim practice, four swim meets with other neighborhood swim teams, championship meet, and a team medal. Practice begins end of May at Pool 2. Our team competes against five other Swim North Texas teams with meets on Mondays.

Attend our Open House on Sunday, March 27 from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Community Center to meet our coaches, ask questions, and sign up for volunteer positions. You will also be able to purchase team swimsuits.

Calling All Gardeners!

Highland Village, Flower Mound, Lewisville, Double Oak and all surrounding areas

Flower Mound Garden Club would like to invite you to a program on "Attracting Birds to Your Garden" on Tuesday, February 8 at 7:00 PM, presented by Kathryn Wells. We meet at the Bridlewood Amenity Center, 5000 Par Drive Flower Mound.

Kathryn Wells, President of Denton County Master Gardener Association and Vice President of Texas Master Gardener Association, appreciates the importance of Texas native plants, especially those indigenous to our north-central Texas ecoregion, in creating bird-friendly gardens and landscapes. A Texas Master Naturalist (Elm Fork Chapter) and member of the Native Plant Society (Trinity Forks Chapter), Kathryn is certified in all five Native Landscape Certification Programs including “Native Landscapes for Birds”. Her property is a Certified Wildlife Habitat®; the latest resident is a Greater Roadrunner she calls Rudy.
