OPWDD clarifies IRMA COVID-19 Reporting
The following information is intended to ease the burden of COVID-19 reporting for providers by clarifying reporting requirements. On 12/31/2021, OPWDD sent an email with COVID-19 Reporting and IRMA Requirements as well as a Provider Easy Reference document.  To ensure that provider agencies understand the requirements for reporting data for COVID-19 into OPWDD’s Incident Report and Management Application (IRMA), this communication is to clarify the criteria for required data entry of a COVID-19 Event/Situation related to quarantine status.

IRMA entry for is required for the following:
  • A Positive Test for COVID-19 for any individual or staff of the facility or program.
  • A Health Department or Health Care Provider (defined as physician, physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner) determination of any person as presumed positive for COVID-19.
  • Any quarantine and/or isolation status issued by a Health Department or Health Care Provider.

If a quarantine status is not issued by a Health Department or Health Care Provider, IRMA entry is not required.  However, if a provider chooses to quarantine individuals and staff within their program as a precaution, the provider can choose to document this in IRMA for their own tracking purposes. If IRMA is used for these purposes, the provider is responsible to add the names to the IRMA record and select “Other Exposure” on the appropriate COVID Form.
For Day Service providers who wish to use this option, “Other Exposure” must be selected on the Program Form (it is not necessary to complete each individual form) and a description may be detailed in the “Other Exposure” text field.

Advocate for HCBS funding!
While negotiations over what a revised Build Back Better Act may look like and which priorities will be included, now is the time to advocate for the inclusion of the $150 billion investment in the HCBS program that was included in the House-passed Build Back Better Act.
Urge Senator Gillibrand & Senator Schumer to support critical funding for HCBS. Use ANCOR’s advocacy tool at https://bit.ly/34z8HfS.
and feel free to use the resources available in their  advocacy toolkit.
