BANNER HELICOPTER MEETING - April 28 4pm
Thursday, April 28, 4pm - 5:30pm
Banner hospital has a "Memorandum of Understanding" (MOU) with Jefferson Park and the City of Tucson. That MOU requires helicopters to use the "Fly Friendly Zone", i.e. come in and leave SOUTH of the hospital. Exceptions to this path often occur in hazardous weather or due to a critical patient onboard. The MOU requires monthly helicopter reports and an annual meeting. During Covid, Banner has had trouble complying. We want to explore how we can move forward with the MOU. If you live near Banner you will most likely be interested in this meeting. Please join us.

IN PERSON - The meeting will commence at 4:00PM and end at 5:30PM. It will be held in the Duval Auditorium located at Banner University Medical Center. For those attending in person, please park at the front of the hospital, check in at Tower 1 and proceed to the Duval Auditorium, Tower 4, Floor 2. All in-person attendees are required to wear a mask and observe social distancing.

Paving Update
Neighbors,
Update as of this week regarding the Jefferson Park paving project:
A contractor has been selected, and is under contract. However, asphalt will not be available until the end of June; construction is expected to begin early to mid-July.
The Public Information Office will send out notices 10 days prior to the activity. Until a firm date is finalized, this is the latest information that Department of Transportation and Mobility, DTM, has for us.
Remember!! The only way to get our roads repaired and fixed is for TDOT to hear from YOU! (520) 791-3154
TEP - 138kV Poles

This past week, TEP held a public meeting to update the community about the Transmission Line project. The public was overwhelmingly opposed to the installation of 100-foot, 138-kilovolt poles along the Gateway route, Campbell, or in, or adjacent to, residential areas, such as Jefferson Park. The Tucson Planning Commission will hold a second virtual public meeting on May 11 to discuss the phrasing of the TEP-requested exceptions to the undergrounding ordinances. This is going to be a long and drawn-out process. Please remain
vigilant and continue to provide feedback.
Parklet at Edison and Campbell Access Road
Every 3rd Saturday of the month, 8:00 am, at the end of Edison at Campbell Avenue, we clean the parklet. Reminders are sent out on Google groups. Garbage bags and tools supplied. If you do pick up trash during the week, or just prefer to pick it up at a time of your choosing, please contact Joanne Osuna at cricket16@cox.net and your time will count. We report our hours to Tucson Clean and Beautiful as part of the Adopt-a-Park Program.
