Award Winning Pearl's Premium
Significant Savings on
Lawn Maintenance

|
Is Your Lawn Full of Weeds? |
Here's what you can do
- Be sure to mow your grass taller, ideally 3.5 to 4-inches tall to maximize roots and shade the soil. This will also help prevent weed seeds on the soil such as crab grass and other annual weeds from sprouting. Tall, thick grass not only has fewer weeds, but also grows slower and needs less water and mowing. Be sure to use a sharp blade. A dull blade will tear the grass, exposing it to disease. You can sharpen your blade with a cheap metal file. First unplug the spark plug wire on a gas mower, or take out the battery on an electric mower. Then take 2-minutes to sharpen the blade at the angle of the bevel. When it comes to safety and possible injury, we do not skimp on words of caution.
- Everything has a natural life, so it's helpful to overseed once every 3 to 5 years, although some people do a light overseeding every fall. If you haven't done so in a while, try overseeding this fall and plant thickly so you'll have fewer weeds next year.
