Fall Update & Board of Directors Meeting
Please join us on Thursday, September 21 at 7:30 am at Bay West in Room #244 for an Alliance Update. This update is for Alliance Investors and anyone interested in learning more about the work of the Alliance. Attendees will hear an update on the progress of the Alliance Task Force groups and other important initiatives. The session will kick off with networking, coffee, and pastries at 7:30 am. Manufacturing Industry 4.0 Roadshow
in Iron Mountain
The Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center, in partnership with Automation Alley, held an Industry 4.0 Roadshow showcasing some of the most impactful technologies available to manufacturers at Bay West on August 24. The event was well-attended and included live technology demonstrations and opportunities to speak directly with experts about each innovation. Attendees also learned about The Center’s FREE Technology Opportunity Assessment and how it helps identify technologies that will provide maximum improvements and return on investment. The completion of the Assessment can lead to a grant application to assist with up to $25,000 in technology implementation funding for small manufacturers. Find out more here.

Michigan Manufacturers Hosting Workforce Solutions Event
On September 26 in Marquette, the Michigan Manufacturers Association will host a Workforce Solutions Event. To navigate the gaps between workforce supply and demand, MMA is facilitating regional collaborative solutions to help the Michigan manufacturing industry develop the world’s strongest and most competitive manufacturing workforce.
 
The event will feature Bill Rayl, MMA Executive Director of Workforce Solutions, to facilitate regional connections and share valuable talent information. An agenda and registration information can be accessed here.

The Loyal 2 Local Planning Committee is excited to announce an in-person Member Summit on Wednesday, November 1. Michigan Tech University is hosting 906 Industry Day on September 6. This event is exclusively for U.P.-based employers who are looking to fill positions requiring bachelor’s degrees and/or offering internship opportunities to show students that the great living and natural beauty surrounding them while at MTU doesn’t have to come to an end upon graduating – the U.P. is building, making, innovating, and advancing across diverse sectors and the quality career opportunities available to them, right here in the U.P., are plentiful.
