Looking Forward to the Next 50 Years for the VOS!

Dear VOS Members,

First of all, a big thanks for a job well done to Wanda Gordon-Evans, the VOS board of directors, Heidi DeCamp and the Wolfpack team for organizing a fantastic 50th anniversary meeting in Big Sky. Great science, skiing and fellowship! A special thanks to José García-López, Mich Powers, Brenda Salinardi, and Cara Blake who are rotating off active board duty, and a hearty welcome to Laurent Guiot, Jonathan Suber, and Andrew Jackson who will be joining us.

Next year we will be hosting the VOS meeting at the first new venue we have used in a long while, initiated in response to feedback on the VOS survey. The meeting will be in Lake Tahoe at The Everline Resort and Spa (formerly the Resort at Squaw Creek). Several of our prior venues are no longer interested in hosting VOS, so maintaining a portfolio of good resorts that fill our needs remains an ongoing priority for the VOS. We ask in advance for your patience with any “first-time hassles” with this new venue. Advance site visits are in progress now to make the transition as smooth as possible. Stan Kim and Mike Karlin will be assembling another stimulating scientific session.
Randy Basinger
It has been a great first 50 years for the VOS. I look forward to helping shepherd the VOS into its next 50 years.

Yours in service,

Randy Basinger, DVM, ACVS
President, Veterinary Orthopedic Society
Thank You to All Who Made This a VOS Conference to Remember!
Samir Mehta and Wanda Gordon-Evans
Dear VOS Members,

I have been honored to serve as President of the 50th VOS Conference. I was impressed by the abstracts presented by the young clinician scientists at this meeting. Congratulations to all those who won awards (see below).

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Dr. Samir Mehta, the Jacques Jenny lecturer (pictured at right), the past presidents who presented blasts from the past, and all the VOS board members without whom, this meeting could not take place. A lot of people put in hard work and sleepless nights to make this a VOS to remember. The creativity and dedication of the board is considerable. I would also like to recognize Heidi DeCamp for her hard work keeping us all in line over the last year, the NC State crew for their organization and advice, and the outgoing members of the board: José García-López (Past President), Cara Blake (Treasurer Consultant), Brenda Salinardi (Foundation Director), and Mich Powers (Advertising/Publicity/Sponsor Chair).
Wanda Gordon-Evans
Although I am sad to say my time as president has come to an end, I am excited about next year's VOS in Lake Tahoe.

See you there!

Wanda Gordon-Evans, DVM, PhD, DACVS, DACVSMR
VOS Past President
