Mill Valley City Council Welcomes New Councilmember, Caroline Joachim

At their meeting on Monday, April 3, 2023, the Mill Valley City Council adopted a Resolution approving and declaring the results of the March 7, 2023 Special Municipal Election, and conducted a swearing-in ceremony for newly elected Councilmember Caroline Joachim. Public Works News

East Blithedale Paving Update - April 4, 2023 - Due to an unforeseen condition with utilities not previously identified, we are temporarily suspending paving East Blithedale Avenue. We are diligently working with our design team for a resolution, so we can take advantage of reduced traffic during Spring Break (April 10-14).


East Blithedale Avenue Roadside Barrier Upgrade Project - The City of Mill Valley was selected by Caltrans for a state Highway Safety Improvement Program guard-rail replacement project. The project will upgrade a total of approximately 1,150 linear feet of existing timber and post guard rail in four locations between Ashford Ave. and Lomita Drive.

Downtown Project Construction Update - Despite the wet weather, the team has installed new curbs, gutters, storm drains, sidewalks, median island, and more! Check out the latest update here.

Southern Marin Fire District Presents Mill Valley Neighborfest - The inaugural Mill Valley Neighborfest will launch this May throughout various communities in Mill Valley encouraging residents to get to know their neighbors. The Mill Valley Neighborfest is presented by the Southern Marin Fire District in partnership with the Southern Marin Neighborhood Response Groups program in an effort to help build connections and trust between neighbors. You're Invited To Attend Our SMFD - First Responder Drone Program Community Meetings - Join Southern Marin Fire Protection District in April to learn more about the future of the fire service. We are excited to introduce our mission to bring drones on board as a useful tool to assist our firefighters and first responders. We have developed a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) to answer questions regarding the proposed program. 9th Annual Poetry World Series

Friday, April 14th, 7pm | Mill Valley Public Library

Daniel Handler returns to emcee the 9th Poetry World Series, where baseball and poetry collide to create a fabulous and wacky literary event. Two teams of illustrious poets duke it out using words to swing for the fences. This boisterous slugfest of wordplay, repartee, and quips, mixed with ballpark music, beer, and popcorn, makes for a great outing. Registration highly recommended. Learn more.

Promote April 19th Plastic-Free Lunch Day at Your Local School - Volunteers needed to promote plastic free lunch day on April 19th. Calling all kids, parents, caregivers and teachers! There is still time to get organized and promote Plastic-Free Lunch Day at your school. If you are already doing it plastic-free, inspire others to give it a try! On Wednesday April 19th kids across the country will work to promote how kids can enjoy a cafeteria lunch prepared and served without plastic or bring their own waste-free lunches to school. See how easy it is to start a new movement or habit. Bonus: Kids love it! 


Mill Valley Friends of SLPs (Steps, Lanes and Paths) - Join the next work day!

Saturday, April 8, from 9-11 am - Location: SLP63 (La Paloma Lane)

Join the SLP Improvement Program the second Saturday, of the month to help maintain and improve our steps, lanes and paths. All skills are welcome! Wear your jeans, bring your gloves, weeding tools, a friend & water to drink.

Pups on the Plaza

April 22nd 2023 11am-2pm, Downtown Plaza

Pups on the Plaza is an annual dog adoption sponsorship program presented by Beth Brody, a Compass Realtor, who partners with The Milo Foundation to provide a venue for “homeless” shelter dogs to meet people in the community and hopefully find their "forever homes." They will have staff to help handle the canines and the adoption process.
