March Blog Post
This month's blog post was written by one of your Allegheny County Park Rangers, Deaglan McManus. To celebrate Women's History Month, Deaglan is graciously giving us a history lesson on Mary Flinn Lawrence and her impact on your county parks.

April is Earth Month!
Protect your parks. Protect your planet.
|
|
From the Celebration Meadow at Boyce Park, to the Waterfall Trail at Settlers Cabin and every natural wonder in between, your county parks help make up our beautiful planet. The Allegheny County Parks Foundation celebrates our planet every day by working to preserve these natural spaces. Join us in support of Earth Month as we come together and celebrate what matters most—our planet.
Help us reach our goal of raising $30,000 by Earth Day on April 22! We are grateful that Parks Foundation supporters and North Park users, Karen and Shawn Hanlon, have provided a matching fund to match all Earth Day donations, dollar-for-dollar, in hopes of inspiring you to support the Allegheny County Parks Foundation. All funds will go directly to supporting your county parks.
The power to protect your parks and your planet is in your hands.

We are grateful that Parks Foundation supporters and loyal North Park users, Karen and Shawn Hanlon, have provided a matching fund to match all Earth Day donations, dollar for dollar, in hopes of inspiring you to support the Allegheny County Parks Foundation. - Increasing the tree canopy in Hartwood Acres and South Parks
- Restoring the riparian buffer and eroded streambanks in North Park
- Conducting an ecological study of our streams in Deer Lakes, Round Hill, and Settlers Cabin Parks
- Removing invasive species in White Oak and Boyce Parks
