“Project UGRR Belmont County”, Kristina Estle, M.A., Museum Director/Curator of The Underground Railroad Museum in Flushing, Ohio.
The June 11th program of the Salem Historical Society & Museum will be presented at the Shaffer Library, located at 239 South Lundy Avenue at 7:00pm. Nonmembers of the Society are welcome to attend. Following a short business meeting, the program, “Project UGRR Belmont County.”, will be presented by Kristina Estle, M.A., Museum Director/Curator of The Underground Railroad Museum in Flushing, Ohio.
This lecture is a historical analysis of the underground railroad in Belmont County, as well as other compelling stories, researched and mapped by Kristina Estle, Museum Diretor.
Kristina Estle holds many positions, primarily the Director of the Underground Railroad Museum, located in Flushing Ohio, but she also founded and owns a grant writing business, Lakeside Grants, LLC. She is also the Cubscout Master in Barnesville, President and Founder of the History Detectives of Belmont County, she is also a member of the Belmont County NAACP and Wheeling Griot Society. She holds a BA in History from Ohio University and an MA in Public History and Museum Studies from SNHU. She has two children, Antoni, 15, and Tara, 9, and a rescue beagle Sadie, and 2 goldfish Hermione and Houdini. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, and training for a triathlon.
