Scripture Reading for this Sunday

Luke 12:13-21 (New Revised Standard Version)

13 Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me.” 14 But he said to him, “Friend, who set me to be a judge or arbitrator over you?” 15 And he said to them, “Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.” 16 Then he told them a parable: “The land of a rich man produced abundantly. 17 And he thought to himself, ‘What should I do, for I have no place to store my crops?’ 18 Then he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.’ 20 But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ 21 So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich toward God.”

DWM MARCH 14: LUNCH & GAMES!

Ladies, join us for our Disciples Women’s Ministry gathering: LUNCH & GAMES this Monday, March 14 at 12:00 noon in the church fellowship hall.

Bring your own lunch, drink and (optional) a game to share.

We’ll have a brief opening meditation and prayer, enjoy fellowship over lunch, and then have fun playing some of our favorite games. If you can’t stay for games, at least plan to join us for lunch.

Questions? Contact your DWM leadership team: Mildred Adair, Anna Marie Blair, Darlia Hunt, Linda Glover, Susan Kessler, or Jackie Switzer.

We hope to see you Monday!

Incentive Cards for

Hopewell Middle School

Continuing our focus on our neighborhood schools children, we are seeking your support once again to help fund gift cards to be used as student incentives by the principals and counselors at Hopewell Middle School.

To "jolt" your memory, we donate a $5 gift card to Hopewell Middle School and they, in turn, let the students earn the card with good behavior and improvement. This incentive program works very well, so we are asking you to donate as many $5's as you feel you can, to supplement the budgeted funds for this semi-annual project. We will take the donations, buy the gift cards, and deliver them to the principals/counselors. If you are so moved, please make your checks out to RRCC or use the online payment method and write "Hopewell gift cards" in the memo line. Voila, you have helped a student in his or her success! Feels good, doesn't it?

Please place your offering indicating "Hopewell" or “gift card” in the collection plate on Sunday, through the mail, or via the online payment portal. Thank you for your generous support in this project serving our mission, "Embracing Our Neighborhoods with Christ-Like Love!"

Please bring your donations on 3/6 or 3/13 so that they can be purchased and delivered to the school prior to Spring Break!

Thanks, so much, for your support of our local schools!
