Training Requirements for Management?
CampCalNOW is watching the following pieces of legislation that could affect RV park and campground operations.

2021 CA S 869
Author Senator Leyva

Requires the Department of Housing and Community Development, by January 1, 2024, to adopt regulations to require each person employed or acting under contract as an onsite manager or assistant manager, or otherwise acting in an onsite or offsite managerial capacity or role, on behalf of a mobile home park, special occupancy park, or recreational vehicle park to receive appropriate training of at least 18 hours during the initial year.

This bill would require HCD to offer the training in an online format and would authorize training in other formats. There is also a requirement for up-to-date background checks of each person subject to the training. The bill would require the department, upon a person's satisfactory completion of the training and the examination, and upon meeting the other requirements, to issue the person a certificate of completion, and would establish a process for renewing the certificate. Additionally, the bill would establish a fee-based structure to administer the program.

More to come on this but CampCalNOW would like to know how you feel about HCD requiring training of your employees. Drop us line at info@campcalnow.com
