Staff restoring playground swings,
basketball hoops Friday, May 29
The City of Cleburne is restoring swings and basketball hoops at its parks and playgrounds for the community to enjoy but visitors are encouraged to take safety precautions.

Staff reinstalled swings and basketball hoops at its park facilities on Friday, May 29, as the community adjusts during the COVID-19 pandemic. Per State guidelines, the City removed the equipment at the start of the pandemic to encourage social distancing.

We are pleased to announce, community members can use playground equipment if they wish and are encouraged to take extra precautions for the safety of their families and other community members. Precautions include using common sense, practicing proper hand hygiene, and not using the equipment if you or a family member feels sick.
City Council discusses street crossing offer from BNSF
The City Council agreed that they would prefer not to close any of the current streets that cross over railroad tracks in the city based on BNSF’s current offer but may consider the potential closing of the Chambers Street crossing if the railway company presents a counter offer that better compensates the community for the impact a crossing closure may have on the community.
