She also served as Deputy Chief International Trade Counsel under former Chairman Orrin Hatch.

Nasim previously served as Trade Counsel to the House Committee on Ways and Means, where she worked under Chairmen Dave Camp, Paul Ryan, and Kevin Brady from 2014 to 2016 to advance trade promotion authority (TPA), customs, preferences, and miscellaneous tariff bill legislation.

Nasim will take over for Ms. Viji Rangaswami, Senior Vice President and Chief Federal Affairs Officer at Liberty Mutual, who has served as the Council’s Chair of the Trade Working Group since 2016. A seasoned trade attorney herself, Viji has provided all TWG members and Council staff with her knowledge and insight on a variety of trade matters over the years. Though she is stepping back, we look forward to Viji’s continued participation in the Trade Working Group.

Please join us in welcoming Nasim to her new role, and in thanking Viji for her years of leadership.
